interesting..that Electra Paula is one of the nicer old japanese ones I think.. On my old Gordon Smith I originally had a Kahler Trem with locking nuts..I removed it completley, filled the trem cavity and installed a custom made bone nut instead of that old sharp brass nut like you have..much better...

body through holes look a bit off-centered, so I drilled them a notch wider, so that the strings don´t touch wood anymore.. http://fs5.directupload.net/images/170217/temp/a9wmm5p5.jpg before http://fs5.directupload.net/images/170217/temp/dgevp6j5.jpg after http://fs5.directupload.net/images/170217/...

Tele Custom ´72 mahogany project

Got a nice older Bach Telecaster Standard, they build many of their guitars with mahogany body, which is interesting for a special Tele Custom build..

the original bridge singlecoil sounds nice, bridge with notched brass saddles..

mutilated a bit more..
closed the pickup holes and installed some nice and cheap Vanson Alnico II humbuckers..
plays nice..the tremolo ringing overtones are there, but a little bit less than with my old VMJM ..

nice one ;) I had one, too some years ago..I really like the neck.. a pity that most of these ( or silimar Arias) all are missing the trem cover.. the screws at the bridge have very strange specifics, neither US nor Japanese..couldnt find replacement for those.. without the shim, is the neck crooked?

was the old bridge just sitting on top of the pickguard? looks like the pickguard is cut out in the first pics

the pickguard originally was cut around the bridge, you can see this in my third posts pics..
the pickguard is off and the trem still is on top.

can someone tell me what the distance of the tremolo and the bridge is on that model? ..it´s somewhat nearer, but how much..

I want to rout a tremolo on my stoptail SQ Jazzy..best would be a routing plan, hm..
