Re: NGD: Line 6 Variax 300
Hopefully! I want you to have to lash something together out of bits from a '90s Skybox remote and a disused microwave.

Re: NGD: Line 6 Variax 300
Good work. Although is it bad that I sort of want the switch/encoder to start acting up again so that we get to see you solve the problem of not being able to get a replacement right off the shelf?

Re: NGD: Line 6 Variax 300
I'd don't think I'd ever get into it, but I'd love to see this idea follow the evolution that modeling and computer processing did. It feels as though there should be a product that looks like a guitar, but contains loads of guitar models and tunings built in, your pedals and your amps. Straight to ...

Did you have one of these before?
I half thought about it a few years ago.

Re: new tom delonge starcaster controversy
On the one hand, I think that it's sort of shitty. On the other hand, Blink 182 were a band for stupid people who didnt like music but wanted to look cool. If Fender wants continue to give those people what they want, now that they're in their forties and have disposable income, it's hard to feel sy...

Re: Black Japanese resurrection
Gorgeous. I usually don't like 1 pickup guitars, but there's a lovely symmetry between the pickup and the bridge which balances it. I could easily imagine some exotic luthier making these with rosewood necks and charging £2,000 for one (more if you want extras, like paint). The no dot at 3 didn't ev...

Re: Black Japanese resurrection
Although the strap covers the top horn in that final pic, it's such a cool shape for a guitar. Looks very modern. The mishmash of frets and the dot-weirdness would annoy me, though!

A lot of the time when people think they've recorded ghost sounds, it is in fact spiders.

Behringer C1 Buzz Fix
Not quite sure which is the best forum for this, but hey. Having borrowed a Behringer B-5 for some vocal recordings, I was impressed with how good it sounded. I decided to give a C-1 a go. I found a NOS one for (I think) £25 and went for it. When I got it, I was a little concerned that there was a b...

Fixed the link in the original post. It had been replaced on Soundcloud because I'd been dicking around with magic ai mastering plugins.

How does the Kaoss pad get used? Was always interested in them but didn't have the imagination to see a use case for one.

Re: pictures of your guitars here
I suppose that's '80s USA vs Japan guitar manufacturing in a nutshell. That the nameless factories that were producing copies in Japan were doing deliberate, designed guitars that can now be dated and traced and the American companies they were copying were just sort of doing whatever in an ad hoc w...

I always think of them as being brown too. I have a Vantage VP-750 "The Ghost," which is the Matsomuku copy.plopswagon wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 12:25 pm I hadn’t seen a “The Paul” with a burst like finish before. I thought they were all walnut oiled finish
Don't think I've ever seen one with a pickguard, either. Cool.

http://www.musicradar.com/reviews/guitars/digitech-ex-7-expression-factory-25375 Ex7 was a multi effect type expression dealing with loads of good stuff, but critically had the XP-300 modelled/recreated. Everything else was good, but that was the thing that you bought it for. Payday Monday, might ge...

Re: Zoom MS70CDR+
That IS crazy. I got mine for £50, I think, and I think I got my M13 for £140. At the time, I felt I'd overpaid by £20 or so but was keen because it was a Christmas present.
I lent my M5 to a pupil last year who has left the school but still has it.... might need to chase them up...
