Re: The ultimate list of cheap copies of great pedals thread!

I could edit the first post, I thought about doing that before I made my post above. I sort of think the value of a thread like this has shifted. Ten years ago we were amazed that there was suddenly a stack of cheap pedals that did all the things our expensive pedals did. Now, that's common knowled...

Re: New guitar project

I think it will be weird and cool. I just can't picture it yet. That's what I mean by saying I'm looking forward to it, not shitting on your new guitar!

Re: New guitar project

Looking forward to seeing this. I think it will look brilliant if it's just heavily rounded so that you can see the different woods, but I can't (yet) see a way of incorporating the holes that won't look terrible.

Re: Best inexpensive sustain pedals?

I still kinda want one of these, but the Digitech FreqOut does it better Didn't know about these. Anyway, this "class" of pedal is what I would consider a "sustain" pedal, insofar as there is such a thing. I suppose the best, inexpensive sustain pedal is whatever cheap drive ped...

Re: Best inexpensive sustain pedals?

There isn't really any such thing as a "sustain" pedal. There are things that are marketed as sustain pedals such as compressors or fuzz pedals.

There was the Boss Feedbacker/Booster which I always thought was gimmicky and brilliant in equal measures.

Re: Ibanez RG760 Restomod

Looks great! With the bridge, I'd be tempted to go with a blacked out vibe.

Ideally, they'd make a Nicksig model where every component of the bridge is anodized a different bright colour.

Re: Ibanez RG760 Restomod

Seems it's a pre-1990, given that apparently they moved the volume knob then:

Is there a serial on it?

Either way, it looks great. I reckon keep buffing until it turns in to an E serial jag.

Hard to tell if My Pal Esme is an actual person or a noise rock project that Freddy has overlapped with.

Re: pictures of your gear here

Slowly! Jamming/practising away, trying to add a singer. I've met with a singer for a writing session which went well, but don't know if it will work out or if she'll be interested in singing with us live.

Re: pictures of your gear here

Changed a few things. Took out the OC-3, and added a ODB-2, which gives the option of big stupid metal tones from this board. Not an option I really need, but a lot of fun. I also got rid of the Red Llama clone near the front (I loved the sound of it, but it was never getting used) and added another...

I actually like the mismatched covers for some reason. Reckon a mint guard would look great on it, too.

You might, but not at that quality I would suggest. Do that.

The Wilkinson P-90s I have in my fretless are excellent.

Re: Pickup options for a Strat project

Sub-£100, I suppose we're looking firmly at Artec. Value, but always feel like a bit of a gamble to me. They're nearly always great for the money spent, but not always necessarily top-end and I always feel like there are so many variations and rebrands that it's hard to know what it is you're actual...

Re: Pickup options for a Strat project

How cheap are we looking for here? GFS level?

I can't recommend Bulldog enough. Not the quickest turnaround, but proper handmade bespoke pickups from about £55 each. Great value for that.
