I hate D'Addario's.. I used them when i was in Jazz band in HS and they always seemed cheap. They we good for the first couple hours of playing then they sounded like a wet tunafish sandwich after that. I switched to the blue Steels for a bit but went EB after that just cuz they're cheaper. I bought...

I've always played heavier strings it seems. my ibanez 6 was usually (still is) in drop c so i use the EB slinky top beefy bottoms... then I had my 7 string so that just seemed heavier with the low B. my Mustang shipped with 9's and they seemed super light in comparison so i switched up to 11's. I b...

What kind of strings do you prefer?
Super heavy, super light or somewhere in between? Which do you all think work better for tapping/strumming?

Mustang PS special pickups...
I'm thinking of experimenting with different pickup options and don't know if the pickups in are a standard size. Like could i get a nickel covered SD or DiMarzio pick up and slap it in and have it fit? I seem to remember seeing somewhere that they were a bit bigger than most pickups? Discuss.

DigiTech Hyper Phase volume drop
I picked up a DigiTech Hyper Phase off of ebay for $25. Score. I really like the step phase setting it sounds really cool with the tone knob turned down with a long repeating delay and lots of verb. Kinda a watery-digital underwater ambient effect. The fucking volume i notice drops significantly tho...

i'm hoping to use it as a jump off point to figure out how to write lyrics. something i've always wanted to do is take someone else's songs, and hear what the music makes me think of melodically, then apply the rhythm of the melody and almost let it tell me what the words are. shit, that makes no s...

Cool stuff, this and Freddy's recent post make me want to by a Metal Zone pedal again. The only thing I will say is POWERSLAVE Every time I hear a two guitarist band where both are playing the same melody/riff together it sounds like Iron Maiden. No way of getting out of it. It just does. - f...
