Epiphone Goth LP. First electric, bought it in beat-to-shit condition off a hardcore band guitarist for ~$100, dealt it a number of injuries like spilling tea all over it and installing teh EMGz, then passed it along to a friend for the same price a few years later. I don't regret selling it to him...

No, I don't. It's just a matter of practice. I do belive however that you have a point that sometimes it's a lot better to practice one's technique rather than blaming your gear for making you sound out of tune.

I don't think the average or even strong player will be able to bend, play quickly, fingerpick or move around with 12s or 13s as well as they could if they worked on trying to exercise more control with a lower gauge. The strats had some nice colour options, especially the green one with matching headstock. The telecasters on the other hand seemed pretty much the same as anywhere else.

Whenever I want a sitar sort of sound I play mandolin and then double track with slide guitar, that way you get both the slidey slide sound and the clonkyclonk sort of sound, which of course hardly facilitate playing live.
