I heard they're good though, but seems like a lot of money to spend if there are alternatives.
Banned? Who, me? What for?

I've heard good things about the Mastery bridges for Jags and Jazzmasters. They're on the pricey side. Anyone here have any experience with them?

Well, I stand corrected. It's actually a custom Fralin tele pickup rather than a Lollar. At any rate, it sounds incredible. I'm a huge fan of the Fano guitars. I know that they're not everyone's cup of tea because of the whole relicing thing. When I ordered mine, I asked for as little relicing as po...

Hello to the other Texans on the forum. I know it's not the same type of guitar at all, but the pick-up set-up you're going for kind of sounds similar to what i have on my Fano here: http://i50.tinypic.com/i3hums.jpg It has a TV Jones Power'Tron in the neck and a Lollar Tele pick-up in the bridge. My tastes are all over the place, but I seem to lean more toward Rickenbackers and other semi-hollowbodies. I do have a '69 Competition Orange Mustang, but here are my other non-Fender guitars: http://i45.tinypic.com/2ujqnf6.jpg http://i46.tinypic.com/d8uiv.jpg http://i46.tinypic.com/nn4rxu.jpg http...

I've had a lot of fun with the ZVEX Fuzz Factory. It seems to work well with my AC30, my old Gretsch amp, and my Fender Super Champ. No muddiness at all... http://zvex.com/fuzz.html

I'd echo what everyone is saying on the 660-12. That wider neck makes a huge difference. I have a 381v69/12 that has the more traditionally narrow neck and it is a pain to fret. You have to be very precise with it.

By the way, I am partial to Rickenbackers... I have four of them. A 2002 Burgandyglo 360, a 2010 Jetglo 4001c64 (the Paul McCartney model), an old black 1959 450 with the gold anodized pickguard, and then in the other picture is a 1991 381v69/12. http://i49.tinypic.com/p0o5e.jpg http://i49.tinypic.c...

People tend to snatch up Rick basses when they fall into that $1300-$1600 range if they're in good shape. They tend to hold their value really well, so if you find one that plays well, you probably won't regret the purchase. They do standard colors every year (Jetglo = Black, Fireglo = Cherry Sunbur...
