Re: Pickup options for a Strat project

Yes, I remember you saying you didn't like it. I don't as well, I always gradually roll it down by accidently hitting it whenever I play. I've made a pickguard with two knobs instead of three and moved the volume out of the fucking way. Whenever someone says I won't be able to do the swells I want t...

Re: Pickup options for a Strat project

If it plays well, the pickup covers and knobs not matching doesn't matter and Ilikeit as is. What is the history behind the decal on the hedastock? It’s my surname. I never think a guitar looks right without a decal so I’ve used these for any parts casters I’ve built. That's a neat idea. How does o...

Re: Pickup options for a Strat project

If you like the sound of your current pickups you might try and wax pot them... with paraffin. I've read that even some boutique pickup makers use paraffin as it's less PITA to deal with than wax. You might destroy them during the process or not. It could be a fun little project.

These HBs look rad. They've had them for some time, only the colours were rather boring, your regular black, white and sunburst.

My guitar came from Thoman in a double box, just like ASSHOLE FACE'S Ryan's in the video. But it was 12 years ago and maybe it's different now

Re: Filtertron'ed Jazzmaster

You can use you current screws to attach a narrow plank of wood to the back of the pickup and use the sticking out plank as the ears on a regular humbucker. Then screw through the pickguard into the plank's ears with a pair of screws for height adjustment a la regular humbucker setup. The downside i...
