Re: NEU! 96 MIM Duo-Sonic

Here is a pic of the first MIM Duo I bought. I haven't played it for about ten years. It is very dusty as it has been sitting in my "sell it when I get round to it" pile. I changed the pickguard to a nice brown tort. I think the pickups are stock and electronics are stock, but I may have c...

Re: NEU! 96 MIM Duo-Sonic

I have 2 90s MIM Duos. It was a long time ago and my memory is not so good, but I did a lot of mods on one so this may not all be correct, bit here goes.... It had been sprayed in blue/green/purple flip paint before I bought it. I modded it more. Bridge changed to a non-trem Strat type. Standard ful...

This is a question based more on nosiness than any intention of buying anytime soon, but I've always wondered how studio monitors would do as hifi speakers? Currently, I have my PC, PS3 and TV all going through a big hifi with four speakers set up in a massive stereo setup. It sounds awesome, but c...

I don't know that there's a whole lot of difference between models at that price point. If you can go someplace like GC and listen to a bunch of different ones side by side that can help narrow the field. But if you're just buying off recommendations it's a bit of a shot in the dark. Once you get s...

i'd say go for it yourself, but don't expect to get studio results just by having separate inputs and eqs. you'll need to make sure the sound is right in the room first then mess around with mic choice and placement. that's much more important than the number of inputs and eqs.

went to hot rox last week to buy new valves. they were helpful. i was surprised by the number of pedals they had in, but had to avoid them.

they were the ones that i asked to play when you played in sheffield except one of them was working that night and another had a shift starting at 4am the next morning. adam and i were talking about it earlier tonight. it seemed really bad to us cos all we could hear onstage was the vocals which kin...

listened to your album in the car on the way to the seaside with kids today. my son loved it. but we dropped in at my studio on the way home and there was a death metal band practicing and he said he liked them more. he was asking how do you make guitars sound like that. he's always had a thing for ...

Yeah, Jonny and his lady were really nice and let us crash in his hoose and stayed up late drinking beer with us (or was it the other wayround?). It was fun. I think it was mostly the other way round. We didn't get up til after 5 the next day with the exception of me getting up to make tea for you ...

Not particularly busy. Good to see the J Springster and pals though. Sadly not as many in as I'd hoped - we had more people drop out in the couple of days before than actually came, but we got about 25 or so people along, but even though it was a free gig there was no walk in trade. We were first o...
