Re: A plug: Timbre!

You get the same bullshit with fancy hi fi cabling.

Re: What’s your favourite baritone/extended scale guitar?

I'm tempted to try a baritone at some point. I tune pretty low in Beige Palace and I've always used standard scale guitars up until now, but I'm starting to notice problems with tuning stability. Not sure if my ears have gotten more finely tuned, or if my playing has gotten more aggressive or what....

Same.

And without the talent, to be fair.

Re: 2022 gear goals

yeah that's insane, series ? 4pc ? I think it’s 5 piece including the snare, but it’s not in front of me at the moment. I’m not sure on the series, there doesn’t seem to be anything to ID it apart from the Mapex badges. From the SLIPKNOT MOTHER FUCKER sticker on the bass drum it’s probably from som...

Yup, I’ve never seen one that cheap before. It doesn’t have any cymbals, or a bass drum pedal, but the rest is decent enough.

Re: 2022 gear goals

I kind of accidentally bought a Mapex drum kit for £20 today, so there’s that.

Otherwise, probably a Strat or Tele. Ideally I’d build one my self, but struggling to find a neck the size I’d want.

Vintage guitars get their highly desirable time worn colours mostly through the clear coat yellowing and making a cherry red SG go brown, a super white guitar go yellow, pelham blue guitars go greenish etc. If you sand the clear coat down you might discover the original colour completely intact. May well be a veneer, or a sandwich style 2 piece. Both were pretty common at the time.
