The revenge for which also involved a drumstick and a drill press.

Re: From 5 to 4, restored an '86 P Bass

It sure is weird, a very clean job tho. I have some maple scraps and I might see if I can cut a plug somehow. I’m a bit horrified to say it but I am still preferring the SX Jazz to the Fender. Might just have to admit it’s better for me. I filled some badly done tuner holes with a drumstick, which ...

Yeah, for me there's no real issue with making copies/clones of discontinued pedals, synths etc but copying stuff that's still in production is a bit of a shitty move.
Every industry does it though TBH.

Re: Guitar Center: Not Dead Yet.

Economically that’s been the message since covid started - unlike a traditional recession there wasn’t a drop in demand as such, but a pause. If companies have been able to keep going with massive temporary drops in sales, then there is plenty of opportunities as demand goes back to normal, and beyo...

Re: FSR CV 70's thinline custom telecaster maple+black binding

I really don't like the look of this, same was with the block inlay squier jazz bass. The blocks looks like some kid put some crazy ass stickers on the neck or that twonk who used to try and pass off his own blocks and blinding guitars as originals got a job in at squier and only been given a sharp...

Re: Cooper FX is no more. But you can get the tone cheaply

I used to have one of those pedals, it was great fun. Needed a separate PSU though, otherwise it introduced a load of noise into the signal chain. I have no idea what happened to it, I assume I sold it. Did you notice you made it in to the title intro? I hadn’t twigged that was from one of the Doog...

SGs and similar "long neck" guitars do feel flimsy. To me people who can pull off rocking SGs are either pedants who carry a towel in the case to clean the guitar after playing and who can take a really good care of the instrument, or bashers who would abuse it, yet it would work no matte...

I had a late 60s/early 70s SG Special that was great. Tim’s recommendation is pretty solid too.

I’ll have a listen when I’m back home. I DJ’d for a few years at/after uni in the mid to late 90s. It was still the era of two Technics and a mixer, so I used to be able to beat match. Doubt I could do it now. I used to play a mixture of stuff, depending on the night. From 70ââ...

Also: the gay community massively reclaimed that symbol in the 70s. Think the B:Assmaster was aiming to camp-up a load of macho pedalboards, but also recognise that that context can look a little skewed now. To stick within the original context of the thread, would also point out that many more peo...
