I also got this new idea for a product

It's a classical guitar, but unlike 90% of current ones the neck is on at the right angle so you can play it. You could use like a ruler, pencil, and a little scraper to make sure the bits fit together and are in the right spots. And you could clamp the parts together while they dry so that they sta...

Epi is a little late to the party - there have been 1/4"-USB conversion cables for years.

The best way is lengths of surgical tubing - that's how Gibson Custom does it.

Mostly it was because I had to completely rewire the thing and I didn't want to spend time hooking up a bit I wouldn't use. And I didn't have enough of or the right pots.

There was a moment when the drill heat, saw dust, and paint particles combined for a nice little "poof" explosion inside the control cavity.

Or you can do what I did on my cheapy SX 335 and Dremel your own into it.

Needs white/cream knobs BADLY. If my home(s) burned down today and I only had a few hundred bucks to get a new electric, it would probably be an Epi Dot. They play well, look great, and always sound solid. Some I've encountered are a bit muddy in the bass, but I think that's just part of the design.

New-Ancient Cab!!!!: http://bestnetworx.com/uploader/files/132/100_3126.JPG Found this at Music-go-round a few days ago. It's a late-'40s Bell & Howell 1x12 from a portable 16mm Filmosound projector. I got it for $25 because the original speaker was "rattly" (at least that's what they ...

Not much changed for me: http://bestnetworx.com/uploader/files/132/100_3123.JPG There's the LaPatrie and the '57 Dano. The others are a 1915 Lange tenor banjo with nylon strings and an SX 335. I just fixed the SX up so it can sub for the Dano if need be - the bridge PUP is just for show; it's wired ...

Are you going to be using it for gigs/rehearsals? The problem with the Hot Rod series is that they are built too tight. The heat builds up in the chassis and all the vibration breaks apart the solder joints, especially the ones that connect the tube sockets to the board. If used consistently at gigg...

It's a regular conservative/liberal debate. The anti-FBXers say "My hands are busy playing - that's why my effects are on the floor!" And the pro-FBXers say "You just hate technology and change!" And both sides are sort of wrong. It's easier to manipulate parameters with your han...

For a guitar whose main show is effects, the review doesn't really talk about them beyond mentioning they exist. The valuation of this thing is quite screwed up. The Robot Guitars were sold for, what, $1500-ish? A small multi-effects unit might be $100-500. Add the convenience of combining them, and...

It looks small and short-scale to me, so probably a student model. That could be a Gretsch headstock, but information on their early 50s models is nowhere. However, the pickup looks to be one of those P13s speed-bumps made by Gibson and used mostly on Harmonies and Kays. So my guess would be it's so...

They're PTP hand-wired in America. Adjusted for inflation, they cost about as much or less than the originals did when new.

But that's like if someone tried to sell you a 1984 Apple Mac for $5,200. It's obsolete technology.

Rosewood is much easier to work with than maple. And for steel-strings at least, I think anything which pulls some brightness out is good. Do you think Rosewood will continue to be as common in the future? With Gibson getting raided, it seems there may be a movement towards woods that can be domesti...

As long as the two effects were isolated from eachother, yes.

An Ex pedal with a stereo potentiometer would do it - I don't know that there would be a simple electronic way to do it.

110% correct with regards to functional octave pedals. And even the best octave down won't sound very much like a bass.
