That fuzz collection is sweeeeet. I almost bought a Maestro FZ1 a few months ago, but I couldn't justify $110 for something that horrible sounding. Still, it was fun to play Satisfaction in the store. Some manufacturer should really bring back integrated cables - it would be the ultimate in retro ac...

It's supposed to be an outlandish statement - It's much more fun to have pointless arguments then just to ask for fuzz suggestions for the umpteenth time. I use a homemade harmonic percolator now - the originals are just way too rare and variable to be useful anymore. I'm friends with the guys at Ro...

Best Fuzz Pedal Ever - an absolutist, empirical question.
What is the bar-none, most perfect, indisputably best fuzz pedal ever made by anyone ever? I'd vote for the Harmonic Percolator - super touch sensitive, and a great driving tone that stays reasonably clear. I ask because I'm designing fuzzes for myself and a friend - right now I'm toying with combin...

Vintage mustang pups are flat pole piece and use a slightly larger magnet slug then strat pups, but the same DC resistance. The plastic cover has an insignificant effect on the sound. The biggest issue with the mustang pups is the low output, even though the pickups are more powerful then strat pick...

Strats - cosmetically boring and sound cliched tube screamers - again, boring sound any YAFF - it's not the only or best fuzz; we need some originality marshall stacks - idk why flangers - but i love phasers floyd roses - again, idk why And i love cascading distortion - ...

The Diamond Sea mod is something I just accidentally stumbled on while I was trying to do Univibe stages. I'm not even really sure that I could recreate it if I tried. The original Phase II is four stages, two of which have normal phase-y cap values (.001, I think) and the other two are much higher ...

Is 4 Phasers too many?
Whadya think? Here's what I have so far: PH-2 modded for sort of a phased trem sound (a lot like "the diamond sea") FX20B with uni-vibe mods Small Stone w/ 4 or 2 stage and phase/vibrato switches '76 Univox micro-fazer It's a lot, but phasers are the only real effect-y effects I like and t...

It gets better when I turn the bass down, but I already have it pretty low. It's not as big of a problem when I'm using a big amp with a lot of headroom (like my Bassman), but my little Marshall practice amp heats up pretty fast. I guess I'm also a little worried that it could damage my other pedals...

Blue Box makes my amp HOTTT
Sooo, when I use my Blue Box for more then a few minutes at higher volume my solid state amp gets pretty hot, especially if I have a fair amount of the octave signal tuned in. Is that a problem? I mean, I know that the bass frequencies have a lot of inertia, but it doesn't seem like that would make ...
