2.19" seems like a lot. This forum post has a few measurements that are a little less then that.
thanks.

by width, I meant the neck at the butt end... alternatively - the width of the neck pocket at it's widest

no big deal - I just seem to be going through a vague phase. :?

I'm curious as to the length of the fret board from inside of nut to center of the butt about 28.75" from nut to butt, and about 36" from top to bottom my bad. I meant from inside the nut to the end of the heel of the neck - the butt end of the fret board. width - a strat would be around ...

really? im pretty sure the cups will have a solid bottom so this wouldn't work, unless i'm missing something here nope, my bad - I immediately jumped to threaded studs. heat and pliers - pliers or channel locks without teeth - and / or regular pliers with something (rubber, cloth or leather) to ins...

if you drop something in the hole and screw in the stud or same threaded bolt, the stud/bolt will pull the bushing up as you slowly screw it in. A little heat from a soldering iron may help.

that'd be FreddyG... just a great guy with a lot of good vids.

If you're a Rush fan, he's got a thread or two at mlp forums where he's recreating hentor sportcasters.

there's also a very good refretting tutorial thread he posted there - stickied in the luthier's corner section.

confirmation on the length of a 58 Duo neck not much new other than the table on last page - bodies and necks unless you have a Roadhouse, Big Apple or Lonestar Strat with the non standard 22 fret 25.5 scale neck, the only thing the so called conversion necks might work with (without moving the brid...

I measure from the 1" line and then subtract 1 from the measurement to account for the inaccuracy of the hook. I do the same occasionally... and no, I won't tell you how often I forget to subtract. ok, here's the convoluted explanation for the two different lengths: "conversion neck"...

I probably measured with an inaccurate device Welcome to the cause, comrade. I posted this elsewhere the other day... tape measures drive me nuts. That hook at the end can have it be off a little... just enough to mess up trim work. in absence of a good quality (expensive) ruler, I cut up a damaged...

Damn them fractions!!! I've been using them all my life and I still have to check and re-check to see what tick mark is what. It's always a bit of a zeroing in process instead of straight to it. It's quirky, but we're stubborn. the jagmaster was the first 24 "conversion" neck (I think), s...

How many of these are confirmed to be accurate? heh... maybe I'll go through a few of them when I get a chance. 1 - it'd help if you could pull it in cad to have a look at some of the measurements before hand 2 - and then there's the printing. If you want accuracy, the page has to have some sort of...
