MIJ Fender Strat Help!

Hey guys, it’s been a while since I posted on the board. I need a little advice from people with more MIJ Fender knowledge than me. This forum has always seemed to be very pro-MIJ so I thought I’d ask here first. I found a guitar store with a 1994 mij foto-flame ST-62 strat with the be...

I think a lot of people dislike them because they aren't as "classic fender" as blackface/silverface sounds. Plus the drive apparently isn't great for Old White Guy Blooz. When I was young a cousin who played in a loud late-70s style rock band had one. Drive channel seemed to make those KI...

Something interesting we did with my old band was to record everything the standard way at the studio using all the digital computerized pro tools crap and then mix the master down to four main tracks, at which point they ran it in to a 4-track reel to reel analog tape with the gain turnt up to get ...

This is it. Six screw small box Black Russian, apparently it was modded true bypass, 9v jack and better 1/4 jacks: http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5600/15585627626_648d7c02ab_c.jpg It's cool that you like it, but if it's the kind that doesn't say "Sovtek" on it, it's not worth as much as the...

Holy shit I bought a Black Russian muff

Today I was working near a skeezy pawn shop, so I went in during my coffee break to check out what they had, and one of the things on display under the glass was a black Russian big muff. I just got home and tried it, and this thing is absolutely everything I ever wanted in a fuzz. It's full and sic...

If the cab is 8 ohms you can almost for sure rewire it to make it 2 ohms. Right now it's probably four 8 ohm speakers wired series/parallel to make 8 ohms, but if you run them all parallel they'll end up as 2 ohms.

I don't understand why everyone seems to think that an old instrument will look like somebody has rubbed stain all over it and sanded it in places with heavy grit paper. How the hell would it ever conceivably get that way? This is like the crayon art version of a relic job.

Yours doesn't shoot lightning bolts like the one in Scott Pilgrim...? It might be defective. Somewhat unrelated, but what are you using for the drumbeats in the intro to the video? Is that something put in after-the-fact in DAW, or is that a pedal running into the amp? I'm looking for a drum beat pe...

The front is usually not removable. You'd probably have to just pull off the back and unscrew the speaker from the baffle.

DS-1... sounded (to my ears at the time) way better than the horrible, horrible 'drive' setting on the Fender solid state head I was playing through. But I needed drive for the punkz rocz.
