Re: NGD: Squier mustang!

The control plate has an impenetrable clear plastic film on it, like what they put on new pickguards. Except that I have only managed to peel off a couple of millimeters. It just otherwise won’t come off. Maybe lighter fluid can melt the adhesive? Lighter fluid might work, but if not, try denatured...

EDIT: Shit, how do you quote reply with an image attachment? I can't figure this out. No-one has figured it out yet. You could download the image then insert it as an attachment yourself, but that's a pain. Well, it's a bit tricky, but I sort of figured it out. You have to do some manual work, righ...

After: http://www.shortscale.org/download/file.php?id=1306 I have his oranged cousin. 20221114_170430.jpg I think mine is a Hot Rails, tho. Haven't found a reason to switch it to the JB. BTW, you looking to sell that JB, Thom? I am looking for one. EDIT: Shit, how do you quote reply with an image a...

Re: Fretboard/Bridge radius Mustang/Jaguar

Those are really cool. I do already have a MM bridge though, I ordered extras when I did my last build just in case they stopped making them.

I may still pick one up from you at some point, those are really handy to have.

Re: Fretboard/Bridge radius Mustang/Jaguar

Okay, yeah so I am pretty sure the vintage Jags were 7.25", based on further reading. The newer ones in the last decade they did with 9.5", and that's what I kept finding for parts, so it confused me.

Thanks for the info, I just thought I was losing my mind for a moment.

Re: Fretboard/Bridge radius Mustang/Jaguar

Okay. I thought original Jags were 7 but Wikipedia was saying 9, so I started to doubt myself. I was planning on ordering 7 for this neck, so I think then that's the plan.

Plops, no I haven't seen these, link me?

Fretboard/Bridge radius Mustang/Jaguar

Hey, so I'm planning a new secret build project, and I'm trying to determine what goddamn fretboard radius to order. I haven't decided yet if I'm doing a Jaguar tail with Mustang bridge, or my usual Musicmaster reissue bridge, but either way I gotta pick a fretboard radius to get this neck ordered. ...

Re: Building a two-channel custom RAT

Yeah, so this pedal is just fucking weird . I keep messing with it and discovering different sounds that don't make sense. I think the massive volume boost it is capable of is part of it, I think when the volume is too high it's severely overdriving any input stage on the amp, and changing the tone ...

Re: Building a two-channel custom RAT

I have been using my phone with a recording app to capture stuff in band practice, though I normally position it further back to get the drums and both amps. I can try that out with it closer to the speaker. I will likely have to hook up the Twin and piss off my cat to get a proper recording, but ah...

Re: Building a two-channel custom RAT

Sounds interesting. Are you going with two full circuits in there or some sort of dual pot arrangement? Sorry, missed this question. I am using a single circuit, with the gain pot on a footswitch, and there are now two of them. The switch flips between them. One is a 10k, one is a 25k, which is mor...

Re: Momentary lapse of reason: Squier Paranormal Offset Tele in Shell Pink

Indeed. Looks lovely. I've got one of the Paranormal Cyclones and it has similarly janky tuners, but is otherwise pretty great. Curious here, what's janky about those tuners? They look like standard Klusons to me. I replaced the same tuners on my paranormal cyclone with real klusons. Main differenc...

Re: Looking for opinions on the Little Martins

So it arrived last night, I spent time playing it for a bit before bed. I'll do some pics later when work stops being ass. First impressions, it sounds a bit weird, like the high strings sound like ukulele like, which I suppose is due to the smaller body. It is mostly impossible to play past the 12t...

Re: Building a two-channel custom RAT

Yeah, the LM308 is the magic sauce for these pedals. I managed to buy one (maybe have another one in a drawer somewhere) and that's what I'm using. However, I also bought and tested out the LM318, and there really wasn't any noticeable difference that I could tell. I really don't know why that wasn'...

Building a two-channel custom RAT

Somewhere around 10 years back I built a customized RAT on perfboard, and it sounded amazing for the noise-rock stuff I like to do. Played many shows with it, until the shoddy solder connections eventually didn't stand up to the abuse, and it started crackling and cutting out. I retired it for a San...

Re: Looking for opinions on the Little Martins

Fuck it, I went ahead and ordered the one I found on sale, as it went more on sale and had free shipping. I guess this thread will become a NGD thread here in a few days.
