A fun one that i do is Open D add9 (i THINK). Its basically Drop D, then take the G down a half step to F# and the B down a step to A... So its D-A-D-F#-A-E..... Super fun. You can do a lot of chords and different things while letting the two high strings ring out. I do it on my Duostang with 10-46...

Re: Squier CV '70s Jaguar demo and ramble

Any dislikes, now that you've had it for a while? Nothing bad, but a few thoughts: Still need to cut the nut slots a little deeper; in conjunction with the taller frets, it can all feel a lil' less "smooth" Would probably prefer a less overwound bridge pickup as it's less sparkly and more...

Did you ever find a wiring diagram? Kind of curious what that would even look like!

It really is! I'm not a humbucker lover, but that could sway things. The finish is perfect!

Shortscales and alternate tunings

I've started messing around with alternate tunings for the first time in my guitar life. Open D at the moment. My Tele seems to be OK with it, but my Duo Sonic sounds like it's out of tune, no matter how carefully I try. It was perfectly intonated for standard pitch, so I'm surprised it's being so u...

Oof. I was stoked for the Supersonic. And then I saw the neck width :? That's always been the neck width of the Squier Supersonic. The Fender Pawn Shop version had a 42mm nut width. Also the reason why it's the one I want the most. Does the Squier have a narrower neck? I might be interested in gett...

Deez knobs

Sorry for the shitty photo quality. Any idea where I could find these knobs? They look like machined barrel knobs with the white marking. I would like to purchase them.

The pickguard type has some kind of story or its just how Mascis wanted it ? Always been afraid of goldish stuff. Got my money, soon gonna buy, now living in Netherlands, use this little "stick in" amp :"D It's brushed anodized gold. It's not bling bling gold. I believe it was an hom...

Many people would agree that coil splitting is a compromise. You'll never get a "true" single coil sound from splitting a humbucker.

Personally, I think the Mascis is a better guitar for the money.

The Super-Sonic is lightning fast with its “C-shape neck profile and narrow 1.5 nut width Nut Width: 1.575 (40 mm) MY A NECK MUSTANG IS 40MM NUT. FUCKING STOKED I keep imagining that playing chords on a nut that narrow would be like going back to an iPhone 5 and trying to...

I very much enjoyed how this story was told. All the first look needed was white knobs. But the upside down Dimarzio does look rad. It did have white knobs when I sold it to Brainfur. I actually wanted to swap the pickups for black covers back then but with the original bridge issues I didn't want ...

It's a '66 USA, but with a Squier VM pickguard (long story). I didn't put all of the screws in either, because a few of the holes don't match.
Ah, my bad! It’s really nice. The rosewood is perfection!

Standard after-market cases from the 90s, for strat or tele. http://bestnetworx.com/uploader/files/689/case1.png However, my tele copy won't go in the neck pocket of the rectangular case because of the angled headstock (shouldn't be a problem with Fenders). It sits above the cutout for the neck, al...

I’ve seen a couple different kinds from the mid-60s...the ones with no compartment, and the ones with the diagonal compartment. The latter definitely look rad inside and out.

Re: Case Confusion

I'd like to find a case for a Mustang. I'd assumed that a Jaguar case would work because of the scale. But all the Jag cases I'm seeing are also listed as fitting a Jazzmaster, so that doesn't make any sense. That would mean a Jag case is too long AND wide for a Mustang? The case is fitted to the b...
