Re: In search of the list cord
i see a lot more folks using the clip-on jobs that have a strobe emulating chip, so it would not surprise me to see fewer tuning pedals on boards and in racks than back in the day. At a gig I use the tuner in my GR-55 or M9. At the jam, where you're expected to have tuned up before you go on, and o...

Re: So, I uh, might have done something kind of stupid..
Palmer, Radial and Morley eliminators might be worth looking into. I find pretty much any hum-cancelling solution to attenuate high end a bit, it's why I think dummy coil pickups are useless (they just make all the best single-coil designs sound that much more humbuckery to my ears). Most budget au...

Re: In search of the list cord
I have: - a bunch of cheap Stagg patch cables with the Neutrik-licensed plugs that are mostly metal with a coloured plastic cap. Only one on the pedal board right now as the plugs are a little bulky and the cables generally too long or too short  . - home-made patch leads using Maplin pancake p...

Re: Best Super Cheap Essentials
I guess the relationship is really the key. I'm just thinking how things were at Matt's secondary school - the gear wasn't respected at all. Tim, what age are your students? Might try to do a "guitar tech club" or something. We have a lot of guitarists who would benefit from knowing how to...

Re: Best Super Cheap Delay
Her other option is to buy some sort of multi fx, but I don't think that's as much fun or that there's as much opportunity to learn. Digging through menus with weird, obscure button pressing combinations isn't the same as eking out the tones you need my tweaking knobs. Another viewpoint; for a scho...

Matt's music
Since the demise of The Afterparty (UK) my son Matt has still been working on songs with the singer for the singer's new project Misery Kids. They've just released a new video ahead of their mini-tour
Matt's playing bass here.

Andertons offerings today...
So $249 -> £299.
Of course, Bax do it for £281 but they don't have any.

Re: So, I uh, might have done something kind of stupid..
What's the plan? One (which should be enough to isolate one amp from the setup and break the loop) or two? And when you say "peace of mind" are you talking best audio quality?

Learn James Taylor's technique from JT for free.
I stumbled across this, this afternoon. James Taylor's guitar lessons - Youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8-5czYJvPM&list=PL4C7B31793C012820&index=8 I love the fact he put a light and camera in the guitar so you can see the finger action from underneath. It may have been done b...

Re: So, I uh, might have done something kind of stupid..
I know what you mean*. I do think G4M would do a bit better if their branding was a bit subtler. "SubZero"? Really? I didn't work out whether G4M are cheaper than Thomann for the Behringer once carriage is included. *I did a post about buying guitar cases a while back and in the end I boug...
