Re: NPD
I always find it a struggle to use reverb in a live setting, feels like my guitar sounds smaller when I have it engaged. Guess I’ve just not found the right reverb, nice score matey.

Re: pictures of your guitars here
Stuck some new tuners on the old faithful, as the old ones were struggling a little. These were what I had lying around to upgrade my squire strat’s stock tuners but kinda needed to sort this guitar out ready for gigging duties.

Re: pictures of your gear here
Extension cab arrived today.
DSL20CR and MX112R.
Hoping it will be plenty loud enough for gigging with on its own, but if not it’ll be plenty loud with the extension cab.
Or tempted to run the origin into the 1x12 and have a wet/dry or stereo rig. Just need a decent delay pedal now.

Re: After some new guitar inspiration
Indeed I did and it was good. Tempted to stick some 11’s on it, as the 10’s feel a little light due to the scale length.
Looking to stick a greenback or creamback in the Marshall and a lower gain preamp tube in V1 to tame the ultra channel as it’s quite gainy quite early on the dial.

This is also pretty fucking sweet! Looks brand new and sounds really nice. I can get that Marshall crunch but at comfortable home levels.

Re: After some new guitar inspiration
It’s was the yungblud SG Jr she got me. She knew one of my first guitars was a cherry red Epiphone SG jr and that i had your tokai and wished I’d kept it. It’s also the only one she liked the look of from ones I’d had saved in my wish list on my phone.

Re: After some new guitar inspiration
she's went and bought you your least favourite guitar in the world but you'll have to pretend you love it and play it all the time so's not to break her little heart
Wouldn’t be the first time, though she knows I’ve been looking at a few things. She did show me a red coronet reissue and i said ...

Re: After some new guitar inspiration
So the plot has thickened as efty saw me looking at guitars and started shouting at me that I shouldn’t get one now and I need to wait till my birthday before I start looking for them. There was a DPD delivery at home today, which she ran to the door to answer and made me wait in the living room and ...

In fact a cheeky message to see if it’s available has resulted in a reduction to £280 if I can collect it asap. Unwanted present for this guys kid.

Although this is currently on market place for £300.
I’m not a fan of yungblud but his SG Jr doesn’t look too shabby.

Thanks for all the responses, especially the heads up on your jag Andy.
It’s all dependent on how many birthday pennies I receive. Might be a slow burner until I have enough funds.
Keep stumbling on cheap tokais but they are the non MIJ ones.

Re: pictures of your gear here
We’ve been rehearsing at the same place in Derby for 10-15 years. Natural light would be lovely. As we’ve been regulars there for that amount of time, they usually look after us and let us store our stuff.

Re: 20 watt valve combo for home/live use.
The kinda gain I go for is that Malcolm young rhythm sound, so not too gainy and quite open sounding. The klon gives me enough gain for it to stand up for lead work or heavier tones. I reckon the classic gain channel would work for that probably. Not interested in the ultra gain channel, unless it’s ...

Re: 20 watt valve combo for home/live use.
I wish I had permission lol, though the lack of gain at a realistic level from the origin is starting to annoy me. I play at my best when it’s the amp giving me the gain/tone and vary my guitar volume. Crunch is my go to sound, so
Cleans are from turning the guitar down.

20 watt valve combo for home/live use.
So I’ve always gigged with 15-30 watt valve amps in head/cab setup. They’ve always been able to cope next to a loud drummer fine.
I’ve been offered a Marshall DSL20CR for about £150 from an old friend. At home I use an MG10 as the origin has to be past 6 on the master to get any sort of gain out ...
