These two paired together are spectacular.
Current conversations on shortscale made me take my saltbooster out of the pedal box and stick it on my board. Torn between using it to boost into the klon or after the klon.
Because the saltbooster can cut as well as boost, I’ve been using it to stick ...

Re: NPD: TC Electronics SCF Gold SE
Does your suggested mod boost the volume as well?
Not in a "removing clipping diodes" kinda way, where it doubles in volume, but you get some more volume for sure, since the tone stack is no longer sucking out a good chunk of the signal.
The video I linked above shows it very well, scope it ...

Re: NPD: TC Electronics SCF Gold SE
Maybe try an EQ pre- or more likely post- DS-1 to shift the frequencies a bit for more cut while keeping the general tone?
I've been using a JHS 3 Series Flanger, and while I like it, it's not quite giving me what I really want. TC makes a good effect, maybe I should look that direction again ...

Re: NPD: TC Electronics SCF Gold SE
You running a stock ds-1 one or the waza one you had/have?
My recent issue DS-1 really does sound pretty good at home with the rig, almost plexi like. Might squeeze the Supa Lead and DS-1 on together and let them battle it out.
Sold the Waza one a while back, so it’s stock (though the white ...

I blame the studio rats YouTube channel for this.
I’ve wanted a subtle chorus/flanger pedal for some different modulation sounds. Used to have a CE-5, CE-3 and a CE-20 years ago but I was stuck in the 80’s cheesy chorus phase back then.

Switched to a Pedaltrain Metro Max, as I wanted a longer, flat board than the angled two row rail ones. TR-2 in for the wobbles for now.

Refinishing James’s Old Cabinet
So as mentioned in the diary thread, I’ve stripped and refinished the Torres 2x10 cabinet that I acquired from James. I traded some Jamesons whiskey for it and rewired to 16ohms. That was nearly 15 years ago at Progfest.

That is a bloody lovely guitar, nicely done.
I lust after juniors and still regret letting go of your old tokai. Currently eying up one of the old melody maker reissues as a potential 40th birthday guitar.

Re: pictures of your gear here
I got a Clean with my mystery box. While I enjoyed the clean I wanted something a bit sillier. I traded it for a Lossy and have been having a great time with it.
This board has been so great

Re: pictures of your gear here
Current setup, added the 69 vibe which is bloody brilliant for £60 and finally dialed in the fuzz face with the rest of the rig so it’ll cut through at practice/live.

Re: Birth year guitars, has anyone done this?
All I keep coming across for 1985 in fenders is strats with those god awful locking trem systems fitted to the. I’ve seen a couple of Japanese squires and fenders. There seems to be a glut of 78/79 strats around the £1300+ mark but nothing that’s rosewood boards.

Birth year guitars, has anyone done this?
I’m turning 40 next year, although physically I feel about 80 and mentally I should of been put out to pasture 😂
I’ve got it in my head that the next guitar I purchase should be from 1985 to mark this occasion.
Has anyone been down this route? Good/bad experience?

Re: pictures of your gear here
Been consistently happy with this board for a while now, the Fulldrive 2 has all the gain I need and slamming it into the klon for leads is just fucking amazing.
Bucket brigade is set with the modulation high enough to give faux tape vibes and it just makes everything warm and melty.

They are doing a whole range of effects.
There’s the Centura and 69 vibe ready to preorder and a Octavia and Clyde McCoy Wah listed as part of the range too.
I’ve preordered the vibe as for £59 for a photocell vibe sounds a no brainer and cheaper than forking out &150-200 for a 2nd hand Deja ...

Great looking board, Taylornutt.
I’ve always wanted to dabble with the lex. I love the simplicity of my mini vent, but there’s times I wish it had more controls or an easier editing mode.
One of these days I’ll try and grab one cheap.
