I wish more Fenders had the contoured heel. It really makes a difference!

friend of mine found a concert lead on the side of the road recently. The power cord was cut so he soldered a new one on and it worked perfectly! Sounded killer, especially with an old rat pedal into it. The Melvins like their Sunn solid state amps. My band keeps an old SS Acoustic head in the van o...

I love them all, and agree with what everybody's saying about the Op-amp muff sounding the most different from all the others. That said, I use only one muff at a time and basically for the same purpose. I can use my op-amp or my greeny for the same parts in our set. I have heard every muff (until r...

Thanks guys....realizing all the songs I wrote on that mustang. Long story short....I always played the same guitar for many years, a USA Hamer studio (which thank god was safe at my rehearsal space) in metal and hard rock bands. In about 2006 my metal band broke up and I started a more psychedelic ...

Aye. A nightmarish situation. Is there any sort of insurance available on account of the strat having been bought recently on a credit card? Thanks dudes, I bought it with paypal via the gearpage. My paypal goes to my credit card since I don't have any real money. Since the guitar arrived and was s...

Stolen Guitars in Seattle 9/13/2010

Yesterday between 3-4 pm my house in Wallingford was robbed and 2 really special guitars were stolen from me: 1. 2006 Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster Pro Closet Classic. Ser. no. 3503 (on neck plate).White with Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar should be easy to spot because it has the big CBS heads...

If you don't get on with your line 6 you should consider the Digitech Hardwire DL-8. You can turn the tails off. It will do everything a good modern digital delay should do. I don't know if its hype or not, but their description of the extra high headroom on this series sounds good to me, especially...

my experience is a tubescremer into a rat can give you a killer thash metal tone. Try a cheap TS pedal. Also big muffs (especially green russian) are great for doom. Or use a massive clean boost into your bassman for Doom overdive / sag. Best octave up and down is the POG I believe. Foxrox makes a k...

I played an ESP Ron Wood Tele and it was the best tele in the whole store!

The lower horn on the ESP Firebird is weird. Too bad. Tokai makes some cool copies.

Get some 1/2" foam in whatever size you want from a specialty store. Google revealed a bunch in Buffalo. It won't be much. Better yet, most of those shops will give you scraps for free.

Silverface bassman, bandmaster, showman, etc. Whatever you can find on craigslist in your town. Best band for buck. It'll grow with you, take pedals well, and have enough power for playing with most drummers.

Your best bang for the buck if you are playing shoegaze is something loud and clean....then you can use all your pedals.

Silverface twin reverb would by my recommendation. Also Musicman amps, bassman heads.

I am assuming you are breaking strings at the bridge? Its either the saddles or the tailpiece (at the point where the ball end is held). Something is too sharp and as the string stretches out, it's like rubbing it across a blade. Snap! The jagstang has Mustang saddles which aren't usually problemati...
