I suspect that the future quirky-casters will be the pointy heavy metal guitars of the 80's. There are a lot of parallels between the 80's pointy-casters and the jags/JM's/mustangs. They were very popular for a few years for a specific genre of music, but quickly became typecast and nobody wanted th...

Ludger just got me some reranch stuff. Within Canada, Purolator were the only ones willing to ship aerosols. If you do label it as hairspray, make sure that you ship it ground, because I suspect that aerosols will explode if they go by air. It might be kind of cool, though, to see the inside of a pl...

How good can the better serviceman jags be? Can some of them actually be playable, or are they only good as wall hangers?

My nuts go up and down with the temperature, making my P string appear to be larger or smaller, depending on nut position. I thought about getting compensated nuts, but I finally decided that I should become comfortable with the nuts that I have. Since then I've been able to relax more while fingeri...

Yea, they're pretty ridiculous. I took a pic of all the colors in one of their pamphlets... You should check out the website, tho, and check some of the graffiti done on trains and what not. Have you ever used the stuff on a guitar? I'd be curious to know how durable it is, and how it takes to sand...

If you like Rusto and are a big fan of spray painting guitars, you may want to try Montana paint. It's like 8-13 a can, depending on the size (250ml to 600ml & possibly higher). It's made with graffiti writers in mind. Some local graff shops should have it (I know of 1 in Dallas if you're near)...

Did you guys see his other auction for a mystery brand 70's solid state amp? It's an even bigger bargain at only $4000 for the BIN. Who needs a reverb handle when you can buy this?

It's a Fender that they almost made, but didn't. IIRC CBS first tried to change it from that first incarnation with the pups under the guard (which actually made it to catalogs apparently) to the more conventional (?) design with normal pickups after it was discovered that the former idea just didn...

Beautiful job. Even in the extreme close-ups, its almost impossible to see any cracks. I'm sure if I didn't know it was there, I wouldn't be able to see it at all.

I've never heard of the fender Marauder... the blue one in the first post is HAWT! Since I'm a virgin to these Marauders, could anyone enlighten me, or give me a link with info? I'm dying to know more about this guitar! And the other pics, is it me or are there no pickups? Or do they use some kind o...

It does look pretty badass. But a weaker spring? I'd change that out for a stronger one.

That's it? It doesn't take much for a guitar to be a signature model, these days. I shouldn't complain though: at least its not yet another strat or tele.

Here's my 1977 Les Paul Standard. I got it for $500 canadian two years ago, which at the time was about $400 in American dollars. Previous owner put a Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge, Shaller tuners, straplocks, and a brass nut on it. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3098/2401532226_05666d7c29...
