Re: Behringer Edge

I wonder how the boutique Muff market is doing now that EHX have reissued their historic variants (and that they are apparently pretty good!). And for reasonable prices, too. I dunno, it's like I said about the people who buy Moogs and the people that buy Behringers. Of course there's crossover, bu...

Re: new EHX harmoniser

I don't think I've ever really used a pitch shifter effect without heaping a ton of distortion onto it, so the artificialness isn't something that stands out too much to me. My POG isn't a bass, it isn't a church organ, but it certainly sounds kind of like somebody took one of those things and force...

Re: Behringer Edge

I only started getting interested in some of the more technical aspects of guitar pedals and stuff in the early 2000s, and I recall that there was a fair bit of mythologising over certain chips, diodes, etc, with this whole idea that certain methods of construction are now lost to the mists of time,...

Behringer Edge

Apparently a clone of the Moog DFAM, and as low-down as that might be, I'm probably looking at getting one if that's true.

Fair enough I guess a company as large as EHX could drive demand for new surface mount BBDs as insane as that is to grasp I knew the tails would start freaking people out - guitarists always fear that stuff Pretty sure I had a tails function on my Dano Wasabi delay some fifteen years ago. Which, fa...

Mike wrote:Sounds good but this is a DMM in name and looks only - that’ll be DSP based without BBD chips

Not that there is anything wrong with that of course
According to the website, it's absolutely a BBD-based analog circuit.

They do make these, though:

Which is a simple but great idea.

The Goldo stuff, as far as I can tell, is meant to be able to be less obtrusive to be retrofitted to guitars, or require less routing for new guitars. So most of their tailpieces require a single 1 or 2-pence piece sized hole to be drilled for the spring mechanism to fit into. This seems to be the c...

Shiiiiit, I'm up for selling my Palmer pedalboard. It's the 80 model, the biggest one they do. I've not had the chance to take pictures or anything since I'm moving this weekend so everything is either packed or inaccessible, but I've never used it since I prefer the flightcase style of the Thomann ...

The only annoying thing about these new TC Electronic pedals is they have those weird footswitches where the effect doesn't engage until you take your foot off the switch, rather than when you first press it down. Not the worst thing in the world, but it has taken some getting used to. But, but, bu...

It's worth checking the newer TC Electronic range if there's a specific Behringer you've been eyeing up; as far as I'm aware, some of the models are basically identical, just with a metal enclosure and true bypass. So it comes down to whether or not you think that warrants the extra £20 or so.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind some more Hotone stuff but only if I can get them super-cheap like the bitcrusher (less than half price from China). I have to admit, it looks and feels absurd when you first get one in your hands. Like, yeah, they're tiny, that's the gimmick, and it's a useful gimmick too, but...

Started to reorder my board after selling a bunch of pedals. Not sure where I'm going with it at the moment. This is probably the dirtiest its ever been as I've been going way out of my relative comfort zone with distortions and no fuzzes at all (well, straight up fuzz; I can still get to that terri...

TU-2 LS-2 GE-7 SD-1 Inherited the tuner from my brother, then he borrowed it back and lost it. The GE-7 and LS-2 I got from a cash converters for £20 each, not sure what happened to the line selector but I've actually dug the GE-7 out today to stick back on my board for a bit. The SD-1 was actual...

Yeah I have the M-Audio pedal, it's fine. It feels as cheap as it is. It's funny because I have a Snarling Dogs wah, too, and seeing the two different styles of construction at two opposite ends of the scale for what is effectively meant to be the same mechanical function is crazy. The Snarling Dogs...

I dare say many of them are holding out for the Mastery version. And then Hurb will come along and make the exact same thing with literal junk just lying around his house. But, as we all know, you don't get the M@J@ TOANZ without paying the cash. And with gimmicks like these, you're gonna pay out t...
