Yeah, your load (speaker/s) needs to be the same or HIGHER than what the amp wants

I can't believe how far Behringer took cribbing the aesthetics of these Mu-Trons... actually, I guess I can

Re: 20-40w tube amps - what do we like SS?

50w is too big for most gigs. You take that back. Aye, this; if you need a 100% clean tone (as a pedal platform or whatever), 100w is a good ballpark figure. I gigged with a 50w tube Marshall for years and, even with higher headroom EL34s, it still got crunchy at gig volumes. Screenshot 2023-02-03 ...

Yeah, I made one myself over Xmas at my folks, but it's not as fancy as I'd like. Plus, I don't have the means by which to bevel it in a way that'd look good, so figured I'd go PRO

Re: Custom pickguards, UK?

Ah yeah, good shout, Thom. I've just ordered a 1ply HH Strat guard for me (with a few tweaks) and he's always affordable so shoulda thought of that out the gate!

I can even send him the OG guard which seems to be preferable for these guys; fewer reasons for there to be an issues.

Custom pickguards, UK?

Hey gang, I'm after a repro/copy of an existing guard, bevelling and all; anyone got any solid, cost-savvy recommendations that won't involve some longass waiting list or whatever? I remember using Sim's Guitar Works UK years ago, and the guard turned up late AND in the wrong colour (BWB rather than...

I bet you could pick up some Squier OEM pickup for next to nothing off eBay/Marketplace/Reverb, and lets you sidestep having to give Amazon money

Re: Tone Bender

The mk3 definitely felt less mid-scooped and compressed than Muffs I'd used at that point (I guess just NYC Pi), but coulda been down to the unfamiliar amp etc.

Either way; DUG IT.

Another fan of low gain on a DS-1; it's sick as it does this 'squishy when you dig in' thing, kinda more fuzz-like; it could only be improved by more/ANY midrange, so defo sounds like a winner.
