I've got one; they're pretty decent, and nicely mid-forward, plus the 2 'sources' of dirt means you can get a few colours of dirt.
Pushing the Gain Boost into a lower Dist setting yields more oomph (less attack, more lower mids) than keeping the former lower and the latter higher.

Re: NPD: TC Electronics SCF Gold SE
Does your suggested mod boost the volume as well?
Not in a "removing clipping diodes" kinda way, where it doubles in volume, but you get some more volume for sure, since the tone stack is no longer sucking out a good chunk of the signal.
The video I linked above shows it very well, scope it ...

I always thought these looked so cool, and then Stompbox Breakdown did a video on it a while ago, and turns out they ARE cool!

Double Riccochet'D up on a Thursday afternoon
Can't wait to hear the new noises, bud!
aside: for a sec I got excited about the Stomp XL ("ooh maybe I could upgrade so all my delays & mods can live in one snapshot"), but you only get 4 effect footswitches? One more than the Stomp?

I bet Boss wish they'd reissued the CE-1 now...
I get a feeling all of these Behringer "vintage" purposely fall into a way-greyer area of trade dress copyright shit - I remember when they first shared the original designs of the Boss compact pedal rip-offs, they were near identical to Boss and shit ...

Re: SoCal Amp repair?
That defo sounds like something 'cold solder joint'-y, or maybe a failing cap (I had similar things happen to my DSL50 back in the day too); getting a tech to look it over certainly sounds like a good idea at this stage, although you could always give the footswitch input/s a blast of contact ...

Really fucking enjoying this record, Freddy. It pulls in way more colours and moods than anything Thank have done previously, all of which stands to make the syrupy stuff sweeter, and raucous stuff raucouser .

Just wired up my completely indulgent switcher board with new cables, and an upgraded power supply so I don’t have to run out of two sockets. Halberd is new, got brainwashed by YouTube.

You can adjust the mod speed, just not on the fly. There’s a trimpot inside.
You are welcome to have a cheeky lend if you ever want a dabble.
Oh nice! That already puts it above the Carbon Copy, where they're both Trimmy Turners
Very sweet to offer, thanks dude; I'll likely keep an eye on ...

I had my eye on one of these on my endless modulated delay journey, bargain!
how it melts into the dry sound
Took me ages to realise this is my favourite type of delay, esp when there's ALSO a bit of low-end roll off too, so it really sits behind the guitar in the way real ambience does. Sure ...
