Reading things over, I'd probably just get a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 for a sub-$300 interface, MIDI and all. Focusrite has hammered out a lot of the early kinks in the line, and as long as the internal buffers in your DAW are set to kill, you'll have a fine AD/DA converter with a Scarlett. Also, as y...

Kind of you to say ;) But I've really done my darnedest to forget that era. 15 years on and some, many mistakes and some really bad decisions I cringe the thought of revisiting in my little brain.

Finally an SG w/o stuffy PAFs or Cookie Monster overwinds in boring colors, this CME special run is everything Henry probably ignored from his better-informed planning staff.

$1500 is a good chunk of cash but I hope they sell enough to implement them as standards.

That pickguard appears as if to be obstinately mumbling les precision yes indeedy imma les precision that be true les precision to itself. Didn't the LP Recording have loadsa plastic? Indeed it had a walla plastic, but not a curvy boner guard. http://forum.kingdomcomerpg.com/uploads/default/_optimi...

I actually like late 1960s-spec low output strat pickups for the strat thing, nice funk toanz and sound great with heavy compression. But for all-around chunk and at a good price, I'd highly recommend a GFS '64 Stagger set. Ol' Mages did a mini-review many moons ago: http://www.shortscale.org/forum/...

Quite an archive of goods. It also may be worth becoming a member of freesound.org for both rummaging as well as contributing. A lot of junk that's improperly recorded or just plain poop content, but there are also loads of unique and usable sounds as well available for download. My champagne cork p...

A-ha, I see.

I reckon anything but a fully-hollow guitar w/o a Bigsby will indeed have that much more weight to it, and with the block and an additional 'tron it's all the more.

How's the weight/balance for you? Some GT guys have noted that G5622Ts can be rather heavy on the shoulders...

And while we're on the subject of the fine Electromatics coming out these days... Those who are interesting in Jets but a bit worried about price and playability should keep an eye out for the now-discontinued G5655T-CB models. Save the spruce center-block body construction, they're practically prol...

I tried playing on of the thicker-bodied hollowbodies a few years ago and it was ridiculous--short dude, big guitar. If I eventually get one of their hollowbodies, it will definitely be one of the thinlines. Country Clubs and single-cut Falcons are monstrous, to be sure. But if by chance you're eve...

Nice. How does the neck feel? I've only ever had a go on a Chet Atkins years ago and its size seemed to be overwhelming. Quite like the idea of their solid body models though. I'm been curious as well how the G54XX etc. models are myself. Proline G6128/G6129/G6121/G6130 Jet necks are tiny, almost a...

Nice work and have fun! Those Blacktops are really good sounding mini-hums, and decent Jets for the most part behave like angry telecasters.

Nice work. Thanks a bunch, NickS. Truth be told, my vox sounded so bad in the verses that I decided to Bill Shatner them out at the last moment, and then just wing it by overproducing the rest of the arrangement... which sure enough led to the EBow as well. Original track and album that the origina...

It has its place, be it out in front as in the OP, or for more textural effects. I for one am not very fond of mine, but use it in place of synth work when a glissando can be a more tasteful alternative. Tucked one in from around 3:00 on while covering a SF59 tune a few months back: [youtube]http://...

Didn't the Beach Boys use a freakishly short scale guitar to get those Wouldn't It Be Nice opening coupletoanz?

I imagine you'd still have to strongRoe a capo way up the neck on the Rev to get that high with open voicings.
