Not something you see every day on this side of the pond. Nor on this side. It'll sell for silly money, but I reckon it deserves to. *sigh* Yeah - I really feel bad for lefty guitarists. They get killed on both pricing and selection. A lefty maple neck 'stang isn't something you see very often - no...

You could do a lot worse for a first guitar - a hell of a lot worse. That's a beautiful Mustang - congratulations!

They're Jaguars. For £250. With a Fender headstock. They're missing a trem lock button, the Fender logo on the headstock and trem plate and that's about it. I can see past these three "faults". I agree. At this price, it should be fairly easy to accept them as-is, and for a few bucks mor...

I don't think you can go on neck comparisons unless you narrow it down to specific instruments. I've got a really thin narrow shouldered C profile mid 70s neck, and a really chunky U shaped mid 60s neck. My '71 is a somewhat chunky C - not nearly as thick as the '65 neck, but not as slim as the '75....

Not what I wanted to hear (I was hoping it would be fairly thin from front to back, with standard B width), but thanks for the reply!

I'd probably opt for the Cyclone. They're nearly impossible to get "new" anymore, and the other two models (VM Jaguar and JMJM) are still current production models and MUCH easier to track down - even if your local dealer says he can't get any more JMJM models.

given their near-total resemblance to their Fender counterparts, why would you spend more on a Fender? To get the vintage-spec fingerboard radius and fret size, like the original Jaguar/Jazzmaster/Mustang guitars or the Japanese/AV reissues of them. I'd swap the neck on one of these Jazzmasters for...

I've got my eye on the Surf Green Jaguar and Sonic Blue Mustang. The biggest downside to the Mustang that I can see isn't the slab body - I actually slightly prefer that. Rather, IMHO, it's the Jag / Jazz style saddles. IMO, Mustang saddles are much better, but the old ones and the MIJ Mustang sadd...

$499 MSRP in the US.

They'll probably "street" for a bit under $300. Call it $275.

I've got a Music Master, Mustang and Duo Sonic II, and I hope to add a Jaguar to that sometime before the end of the year.

Of the bunch, the Duo Sonic is my main guitar.

My Mustang's vibrato is very stable and stays in tune great... but it's far more "sensitive" than a JM / Jag tremolo; a small press on the bar has a bigger affect on pitch with a Mustang trem compared to a Jaguar trem.

I've only tried it on the Marr Jaguar, and it works as advertised - the bar stays in whatever position you leave it, without "drooping" down like they do when they get loose. Thirty pounds ($47.51 USD) seems a bit steep for a bar and a collet, but it's probably worth it to a lot of folks. ...
