Great job on the changes. I would say change the knobs to finish the job. I'm not sure what would look best but my first thought would be Mustang knobs, there black and one white to set off the zebra pickup.

Speaking as someone who doesn't normally like sunburst - that is beautiful.

I'm starting to think all old guitars should spend a few years being owned by Pat. All of his guitars have great character.

Lawsuit is one of those terms that's thrown about too often. If you were to go by ebay listings then it's anything made in Japan before about 1985 that looks even vaguely like a Gibson or Fender, the same as some people consider a 1992 MIM Telecaster to be vintage. Probably the strictest criteria is...

Looking at their site I see it's Pure Salem guitars but I can't help reading it as Jerusalem with a P. On the whole they're very boring in an Eastwood way, vintage designs with as generic as possible hardware. The Reverberation model looks a like the awesome Motorik model workoffire made and it's th...

100% refin, twice even. I'd say it's been refinished in a darker, brighter blue than Mustangs originally came in and then sparkle over that. Neither of them by Fender or the auto shop that Fender used. I do think it looks cool but there's no way it's legit or worth $9,000. Even if it was a genuine o...

I edited your post to fix the link and include an image. When making the colour chart I came across a few of the one-off factory finish sparkles and this doesn't look like them. When you look at this image the paint looks like a DIY job with the orange peel look and how thick it is. Looking between ...

It's all a bit *amber* but some them do look very good. I love the LPB strat with aged gold guard on the front page. I think things like this are better when they take what was good about the original styling and make fantastic guitars with modern components. There seems to be a lot more money in ma...

I don't think I've ever seen them but the two terms to help you search would be 'bell knobs' and 'set screw'.

Do it! It looks fantastic in the mock-up.

I'd go robroe covers but then I'd also go with robroe covers.

its not grey. its charcoal frost. how do you guys not know about charcoal frost ? It's a refin and a fair bit lighter than Charcoal Frost. Charcoal Frost is quite a bit darker than that from any angle, except for the RI version of the colour Fender used fairly recently which is pretty much the same...

I hadn't heard of the El Capistan until you mentioned but it's a fantastic sounding pedal. I don't think you're quite into surf lawyer territory yet.

I stripped a poly finish from a a Squier Vista Musicmaster using nitromors. It came off incredibly easily. Fuck sanding a finish back to wood.
