Has anyone ever put together a BYOC Lazy Sprocket (the SG-1 clone)? Was looking at their site today and thought I might give it a go but have very little experience of soldering/electronics etc. I did once manage to mend my Cry Baby with a bit of soldering but fear that was more by luck than judgeme...

Not 100% sure what your budget is but there's a 1978 Mustang Bass on eBay.co.uk at the moment for £799 BIN. Seller's in Glasgow so you could probably save on the postage and get to check it out.

I recently bought the shortscale Squier Jaguar for recording stuff at home. I'm not a proper bassist but it's exactly what I needed and sounds/plays great. Fantastic value for money too.

The Squier Mustang basses also look pretty good (haven't played one though).
