Re: NGD Eastman SB55
It’s not surprising as they actually select the timber they use. That’s a perfect weight for the size of the guitar. It’s great that when you buy it everything on it is upgraded out of the box. How do you find the neck width? They’re a touch wider than usual down at the nut, but I find it very comfy...

Re: NGD Eastman SB55
Oooft that’s a beauty!!!!! Eastman are unbeatable, especially at the price point. They are currently my favourite guitar brand by a significant margin. I’d like to add a solid body to my collection at some point. I’m glad it met your expectations. I think they should be far more popular than they are.

Re: Synths...EBM/industrial/synthwave/retrowave/coldwave
Amazing!!!!! What a beautiful and apt way to start your synth odyssey!!!
I love mine. It’s a bit of an oddball compared to other synths but it’s definitely worth it. It definitely has a sound all of its own.

Mine is an old one too. The volume drop was on the spring reverb mode (the only mode I use as my Orange amp doesn’t have a built in reverb). I’ll check it in the other modes tomorrow and report back.

Re: pictures of your gear here
I have the Holy Grail as the last pedal in the chain. It was making a terrible noise when I first plugged it into my Pedal Power 2 but I moved to a different port and it stopped. It said it needs 9V 500ma but would run off the EH 100ma plug. I plugged into a 9V port with 200ish MA and the noise was...

LOVE that Vibrochamp!!
The Holy Grail is a cool addition. I love mine but it does that thing where if it’s on the spring setting and you go above halfway it has a drastic cut in volume. I’m going to see if there’s a mod to correct it.

Re: CIJ J Mascis Jazzmaster Refresh
Very cool upgrade! I somehow still managed to be surprised by that colour. Really lovely.
Are you planning to pop in big ol pots too? Black witch hats would look great too.

I defer to you as you have way more experience than me. I always felt that the white undercoat showed up every tiny imperfection, tho I tended to always paint dark colours that can hide a multitude of sins

Re: Synths...EBM/industrial/synthwave/retrowave/coldwave
Nice! The Alpha Juno is great! That sort of brings me on to what I think is the most important part. Make sure you really like the sound of the synth. I know it’s an obvious thing but it’s easy to get blinded by specs and the temptatioj]n to get into loads of cheap modules. Here’s what I learned on ...

Re: Black Jazzmaster Project
Just remember that with a metallic finish it’s never going to be super flat unless the flake is tiny or you bury it in clear coat. Especially if you spray it flat to make the flake stand up. What you’re noticing with the primer might not be a big thing, especially once it’s painted and buffed. Sayin...

Re: Amazon selling B-stock/returns as new?
Yes, I could understand it from the point of view of a small company. Personally, I only buy from other sellers on Amazon if it’s a business/seller I know. Most of the private seller stuff on there is counterfeit, low quality stuff. I usually but from anywhere but Amazon when I can, but the only pla...

Re: Black Jazzmaster Project
Sounds like a solid plan! Yeah apparently if you shoot metallic flat it helps the flakes set at the optimal reflective angle.

Re: Synths...EBM/industrial/synthwave/retrowave/coldwave
You can’t go wrong with a preowned Prophet. Elektron are worth investigating too. They’re not a brand I’ve personally owned but they. One highly recommended. The Deepmind 12 is insanely good for it’s price too. Behringer are supposedly ready to go with their UBX-1 (Oberheim OB-Xa clone that’s now su...

Amazon selling B-stock/returns as new?
I had decided to pick up a couple of those cheap Behringer pedals as I wanted a cheap vibrato to attach to my Orange amp as it doesn’t have one. I ended up buying on Amazon as o get free next/same day delivery and I can use the local Amazon drop off and return box. I settled on the UV300 as it seems...

Re: Synths...EBM/industrial/synthwave/retrowave/coldwave
Lots of good recommendations there!! For something that’s useful for recording and using for multiple things (sequencing etc) my first stop would be a cool controller and something like Ableton push/Live combo. You can pick it up with the software for pretty cheep abs you can do everything on it. In...

Very nice. It looks like it was made for that wee space too!! The decent sized speaker def helps with still getting enough thump at low volumes.

Re: We redid my Studio, last room we haven't done during Covid
It’s always nice to refresh your space. I’m overdue trying to shift mine about again but I think I’ve probably used the space as well as I can in the space I have. I’d still like to construct a garden room/office abs put all my stuff out there. Sadly prices are currently 4x what they were 2 years ago.
