I'm glad I've had one before and know that they're not for me because I'd very tempted otherwise. Other than the neck I found it all underwhelming and uncomfortable.
Will still try and get to a shop to try one out though

I'm guessing you have tried other guitars and leads first. Try pulling all the tubes and cleaning all contacts as well as you can with some electrical contact cleaner before refitting them. Check the jack socket hasn't bent a little bit and is giving a good connection. I'd try retubing before taking...

Ditto has always served me well, recently upgraded to the +. With the + you can plug the looper into a computer and put recordings on to the pedal, or visa versa. Great for getting song ideas onto a computer, or putting recorded loops/samples/sound effects onto the pedal for live use.

I'd be tempted by a finished body, seems like a fair price, but the quality of the other components seems like they could be Chinese tat. May well be great and excellent value, but I'd have to have them in my hands before I'd feel comfortable buying any

They do sound good, especially that Odin. I'm sick to the death of these guys though! "This is everything at 12 o'clock" wtf!? Sounds dead, nobody does that. A sweet, heavy fuzz pedal: let's do that same Eminor pentatonic blues we've been doing for 10 years. Get some other demoers, someone...

Just redid the board onto a Pedaltrain rather than the IKEA shelf I've been using for a couple of years, really pleased with how it's come out! Truetone CS12 mounted underneath

Honestly not a problem, I'd actually recommended the Nux to a couple of friends looking for an Iridium type thing that wouldn't break the bank, and I've been updating them on your thoughts

Recorded a quick little demo of the pickups. First melody is neck, 2nd both pickups, 3rd is bridge pickup and a little dirt from an Earthquaker Devices Plumes. Reverb comes from an Earthquaker Devices Afterneath V3, and I'm using a Strymon Iridium as an "amp and cab" http://www.dropbox.com...

Looks fantastic. I really like that you've got a flat colour pickguard and not pearl or tort. I've never been a fan of pearl pickguards at all, on anything, it's just not my thing at all. I think mint green can look really nice on shell pink, but it's a fine balance between tasteful and tacky/ott/c...

Yes, well into this. Who did the refinish for you? Andy at http://www.ozzyowl.co.uk has done the routing, pickguard, wiring etc etc and I believe he outsourced the refinish to http://shukerguitars.co.uk/ Sometimes I’m wrong, this looks great! I'm really excited to have it finished and try it...

Cool. I’ve been thinking for a while I’d like a modeller. For just chilling/jamming, but also for recording straight into the interface. But I also want a Princeton lol. I've mainly been using it as a silent practice amp, which it does really well, I'm playing a lot more just because ...

It does look a lot more cost effective, especially if you already have a good preamp then the mini would be ideal.

Very nice! I think I have the same thing, or at least very similar, but in sunburst with that same flowery pickguard :)

I love the microphonic pickups for shouting through, apart from that though I never use it

Strymon Iridium

During this year my guitar playing has mostly been confined to my spare-room studio. It didn't take long for me to miss my Twin Reverb, and so I hunted out one of these modern gadgets that make it sound like you're playing through a cranked tube amp, but through my headphones at realistic volume lev...

It's a very interesting design isn't it, thanks for the links. The chap at Shuker who fits these things, and is mentioned on that fretboard forum, is the chap who has refinished my Jag. He seems like an outstanding luthier, although his custom builds aren't to my taste. He swears by the evertune. Ha...

Nitro is cured, sanded, buffed etc. Pickguard requires cutting for pickups, bridge and mute, then it's time for wiring and setup.
