Love the color combo - reminds me of that Silent Siren MIJ telecaster.
Re: Bridge, I would look for an older Bronco bass style, looked like a musicmaster bridge, a lot cooler than the squared off one and should bolt right on. Don't know why they ever changed it.

Re: Fender Tonemaster Pro
So this is a Tone Master Pro. I’ve been seeing talk about these but assumed it was a solid state pro reverb like the Deluxe Reverb and Twin.

How many Nicks does it take to spot a fake loaded pickguard?

Re: '99 Stratocaster pickup query
I’m not an expert but pretty sure only MIM standard and lower were using bar magnets on single coils. Doesn’t look right to me on a 99.
Edit: way back machine confirmed a USA standard strat back then would have “delta tone” system pickups, which were just Alnico 5’s

Re: NGD: Squier Jazzmaster
Nope- the pink knobs originally came on that pink strat I had a while back, I thought they were too much with the pink guard, but like the contrast now. Although I did just realize they’re both tone knobs lol…I do have the volume around somewhere, I’ll need to find it.

Re: NGD: Squier Jazzmaster
thanks - I actually bought both pickguards at the same time....I wasn't sold on this one at first when it arrived, but it's grown on me (the pink knobs help it I think). Nice to have a good standby to switch back to if I ever feel like it. I switched to it at practice tonight and I feel like I under...

Re: NGD: Squier Jazzmaster
So this went a really long time unplayed before I realized the stock shielding paint is crap and the graphite saddles meant it had no ground to the bridge. Drilled a hole to the tailpiece and grounded to the vibrato plate, and also decided it was time for a pickguard change.

Haven't found a Rutles in the wild at an estate sale yet!
These are generally crap, but I like the fretwork practice and pickup testbed idea. Drill the pickup route all the way through the body and rig up a clamp so you can load pickups in from the back without the need to remove/loosen strings.

Re: PSA: Squier CV 60s Jag
In these pics the XII looks more like the Pao Ferro that was on my old (now Shad’s) Vintera Jaguar.
Actually looks quite nice- I’m usually not a fan of Indian laurel- purely a visual thing (my Jazzmaster has one but I’m not sure how long that neck will last on it)

Nice work indeed - looks great - I like the look of the burst and how the outer color bleeds into the center with some of the grain.

Yep. Thanks for that - I knew it was wrong comparing in separate photos, but seeing side by side directly makes it easier to explain.... I have no clue why it's so damn hard to get a stripe right. Fender Japan can do it: http://images.reverb.com/image/upload/s--SzS28kmm--/f_auto,t_supersize/v1693489...

Yeah I don’t know what I was thinking- it definitely looks contoured the more I see it, I was probably just looking for a reason not to want another guitar.

Re: ...so shortscale don't talk about Vintera II?
Someone on an offset Facebook group posted these and I swore it looked 100% slab to me when I first saw it, but now I can’t really tell. Nobody responded to my comment asking if it was slab. I do know the Pawn Shop competition bass reissue some years ago was a slab, as was the Mikey Way bass I had. ...

Comp mustangs should have forearm contours. The stripe doesn’t really make sense otherwise.

Re: Incoming NKD x2
 So the CK61 - one thing I love about it is there are 20 banks with 8 patches each, and only the first 10 are loaded. So last week I spent a few hours making new patches for all of the Haunted Cat songs in our current live set and named them after the titles, then dropped those in setlist order...

Found a suitcase *almost* the perfect size so I no longer need to stretch the zipper around the massive Valco fuzz. $5 at an estate sale:
