Not sure I like the blue, but good idea on switching out the pups. Still don't like mine too much, and it just sits in a case at the minute.

I want the green Jag, but the prices of US Fender guitars are just dumb. Could get something vintage for not much more.

I think the 57/62 are plain and boring. They do "Strat" sounds but they're kinda flat and lifeless, no dynamics to them at all. I had 'em in one of my partscasters and removed and sold them within a couple of days. One of mine has a set of Bare Knuckle Apache and the other has Bare Knuckle...

I have a clone that Mike built me years ago. I was running it through a Fender Twin from the mid 70's and it sounded like shit. I now own a Wem Dominator 3 (50w) and it sounds great when added on top of the amp when it's already crunchy. I find if I turn the volume alllll the way up on my amp, then ...

I have owned a couple Mustangs in recent years. The first was one of those Competition Reissue things, and the pickups weren't great in it, just generic single coils. Not bad, but not particularly inspiring either. I also have a 66 RI that came with no pickups and now has a set of 65 Reissue pups in...

Maybe it is just a setup thing, I've got other trem guitars that work fine but can't really be arsed tinkering with this at the moment.

Mine has sat pretty much unused after being less than enthused by it at a rehearsal. The trem and TOM combo is shit and doesn't work. It looks nice on my stand though.

I wish I never sold my Squier CV Duo, I loved that guitar but loved having a roof over my head more. These new Fender offset models are interesting but like most here have said, quite uninspired. I think I know where they're coming from, doing common mods to the guitars and selling them as stock. I ...

Do an parts-Strat. Mine cost me <£600 and is the best guitar I've ever had in my hands. Anyone who has played it has loved it. That price includes a pricy set of Bareknuckle pups, and all the mojo arrow inducing features you would expect, such as Nitro something or other and licensed parts. Put the...

I mean I'm a mustang fan and all, and as much as the amount of effort that went into the Spider-Man, comp headstock and web stripe and scratch plate, it's just too many levels of retard to strap on and play, or to have it as a curio on the wall. It's basically a prop for Halloween I really like the...

I don't think the neck is as skinny as the Jagstang, but it's not fat at all.

I don't think I can add much more than my own pics to what you just said. Rainy here though today :(

The reissues I had both had very soft wood, which apparently is an indicator of basswood. Fender spec sheet from 2003ish lists it as basswood too I believe. Will have to trawl through my hard drive to find it at home, but I'm pretty damn certain they're basswood. Again, not like it matters. The reis...

Both made out of basswood AFAIK, but that really doesn't matter, don't get too hung up on body wood. Seriously. Maybe the older ones look greener due to aging? I've owned 2 both from the reissue run (a 2002 and a 2004) and they were definitely basswood, I remember obsessing on this too. Both great (...
