Re: PSA: Squier CV 60s Jag
I dunno why phones won't take a straight up image these days, but take it from me that the mint green was too mint green. Got a Musiclily parchment guard off eBay, not a micron-precise match but no mods needed. Before: http://i.imgur.com/nP6wqeT.jpg After: http://i.imgur.com/1t3ESTZ.jpg At first it ...

Re: '99 Stratocaster pickup query
The hole routed in the body under the pickguard indicates Mexican made. Neck looks legit if the decal is real, but there is something odd about the gold in the logo that makes me wonder.

Alas it’s just too small for me, it’ll have to move along I think. The neck is tiny, my hands are not!

Silly, really, as if its value is in any way related to its function as an instrument.

Gee. I thought “hey I wonder if it’s the same year as my ‘96?” and then, “no, probably not huh.”

Re: And another: derelict MIJ Mustang
Yeah. It's really solid actually, although I should say I have a set of 12s on it so that probably helps. The neck is so slender after the other things I've played, it feels like a toy. The pickups really are crap. I have a set from Ken Rose which I will wire in when I get through my giant to-do lis...

Re: pictures of your guitars here
Fantastic collection. How do you like the 12 string? I’m shocked how playable and just nice it feels. Neck is beautifully finished, flat radius but that’s needed, and barely more work than a six string to chord. A few tuning gremlins I will chase down when I have more time. Also the tuner buttons r...

HELL yes. That shit on the pickguard will buff off, the rest looks solid and chuckable, should be great fun. You should enlarge the route and put one of these in: http://www.eyguitarmusic.com/Wide-Range-Layout-Jazzmaster-Humbucker-Cancelling-pickup-Neck-or-Bridge-Pickup12pcs-of-Alnico-5-Rod_p_2812.h...

Re: PSA: Squier CV 60s Jag
So - after an hour of cleaning, sanding, wetsanding with oil, steel wool with oil, and buffing, I got it looking better. Still got a huge light area on the high strings: http://i.imgur.com/VQyZjxW.jpg Overall, the dusty look is almost gone. It's still covered in file marks (you can see the high E ed...

Re: PSA: Squier CV 60s Jag
Yep. I have to stop taking photos on that charcoal grey carpet, it makes everything look weird. Renting so not what I would have chosen. The XII looks rosewood-y but could use an oil.
