That's actually based on a 1960s prototype, except the original had no f-holes and regular pickups.

If my guess that these are mostly aimed at beginners is true, I'm a bit baffled that they didn't play any kind of music that would appeal to younger crowds in the demo. Everything sounded like eighties wank-rock! Not only, there's a lot of Hendrixy stuff and 70s hard rock. What did you expect, dubs...

Modern Player is made in China though. Although I agree, they are cooler models and pretty well made. Anyways, I kind of liked the bolt-on Gibsons of the 70s and 80s: Marauders, Invaders, Challengers, Sonexes and the rest. But people complained about the bolt-on neck before the internet, and people ...

There's also another Johnson pedal, the brown tremolo at the top, in the first pic. Not that I've seen one before.

And the big Lovetone, maybe a flanger. And another Lovetone on the shelf below.

It's not hard to i.d. pedals if you have some clue about the manufacturer, simply use discofreq's site.

That seems common on those Danelectro plastic pedals. It's thick plastic, but they don't shield them. The Behringer pedals are plastic but shielded, so that doesn't happen.

A reissue of one of the earliest Fender amps, the Model 26. The cab anyways.

I like gear that looks like toys.

There's a whole story behind those, a web dealer put them up on their site before Moog announced them, then took them down. Usual talk on forums about vapourware and features of gear that's hasn't been released, and there weren't any pics either. Anyways, there's a second demo of pedals playing toge...

The most important thing is to learn how to control the levels in the computer. The gear is less important.

There are system sound level controls, it is not part of a DAW.

You can buy expensive gear and sound like sh*t, it's been done before.

Does the intonation bother you? I was going to change the one in my Musicmaster bass, even went as far as buying a bridge, until I realised that the intonation was fine and there was no need to change the bridge.

The purple pedal in the first pic is a Chinese analogue BBD (really, not PT2399) delay, Johnson or AXL. I have one but it broke.

Also in that pic on the right below the Brown Rabbit on the bottom is a Yamaha QY20 or MU5.

I wouldn't bother. Danelectros are kind of fragile too.

Much better would be if someone were to fly there, take a hard suitcase, take off the neck and pack it well with clothes. Lots of clothes.

But in this case better buy a guitar there.

I have the VM HH model, the neck is nice and chunky, nice big frets. I like it a lot. Anyways, what do you mean sharp fret ends? The ends of the fingerboard or the top of the frets is not smooth (when bending for example)? In any case mine is smooth in all ways. I've never experienced the former, bu...

Here's another video to prove my point, the beginning is mostly talk in Japanese and funny English, but you can hear right after that it still doesn't sound like a proper bass amp. It's a silverface Dual Showman Reverb through an Ampeg bass cab: [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYuwW5gPbpQ[/y...
