Genius Otis Rush, RIP

KURT'S LAST GUITAR

From the MY LES PAUL FORUM: The guitar played by Kurt Cobain on the Unplugged in New York album and also supposedly the last guitar he played before he killed himself was lost in a divorce settlement by his daughter Francis Bean. That's pretty crappy. Her ex claims she gave him the guitar as a gift....

Recommend an amp for these criteria?

Any suggestions? -enough volume for jams or small gigs with drummer, bass, vocals -playing mostly classic rock, blues rock. ideally a good dirty tone but also a nice clean to use with pedals. -must have FX loop for pedals i already own ...

RIP Yvonne Staples

Sadly, Pops Staples' daughter, Yvonne, passed. As you may well-know, The Staples Singers were a major Rock-Gospel force in the 1960s civil rights movement.

I'll have another butchers in a couple days. I think it said Peavey on it but not 100% But we do know whoever put it on there is a cunt. Refinished. Modified. Forget the year it was made. It has no real vintage value left in it. It's an old, well-made student guitar. with one neck pickup...Maybe 30...

Here is link from Taylor Guitar's website. http://www.taylorguitars.com/guitars/acoustic/features/woods I know this for acoustics, but it helps explain where each wood sits in terms of tone and frequency ranges. There are differences in solid electric guitar tones, but as stated there are so many f...

Re: J Mascis vs Vintage Modified Jazzmaster

hey, guys I've been looking to buy a Jazzmaster and inside my price range there are only two that i like. The J Mascis and the Vintage Modified in sonic blue. Which one would you recommend? Honestly I can't stand the clearcoated neck on the VM, but I am mainly asking about the quality. Most J Masci...

At Moollon we picked one up ahead of time to use at NAMM and have since given it loads of annual mileage since then. Like other little combos, the Special 6 is quite practical in a loud showroom like NAMM when you need a smallish semi-directional box that can point at someone sitting down, all whil...

I bought one of the new Shell Pink Mustangs intending to swap necks with my Capri Orange Duo-Sonic so that I would have a Shell Pink Mustang with a Maple fretboard and spaghetti logo but I love this Pao Ferro fretboard so much I'm having second thoughts about any permanent change. I'll probably do ...
