Re: Black Jazzmaster Project

I really like the colour you’ve chosen. Good luck with the refin. I’ve only ever had success with Montana colour when I’ve used undercoat/primer and given the undercoat plenty of curing time. The other times it went almost rubbery and never really fully cured.

Re: pictures of your gear here

How is the Eyemaster? I’ve heard conflicting accounts. I am on the market for a cheap big stinking distortion abs was looking at these last night. Weirdly I almost bought Thom’s June 60 to use with my synths. We could be cheap pedal twins 😂

Re: Incoming NPD and advice needed

I totally don’t deserve it. Tho the DMM ain’t going anywhere.

I’m going to try the whammy on the board when I get the chance to put it together. If I still don’t like it I’ll see about passing it over to you Jordan, first refusal.

Re: Incoming NPD and advice needed

Bypass loop with an EQ? I had thought about going down that route but there no actual sounds in the thing that are worth the bother. It might be my cloth ears but even when it’s on the volume pedal setting it seems like it colours the sound. I’ll give it a bash later this week when the Twin gets ba...

Re: Incoming NPD and advice needed

Update to this. So all the pedals work and I like them all apart from the Whammy Wah. Much like the Space Station it’s very shrill/toppy and I don’t particularly like must of the modes. Well, there’s a couple of decent sounds but I’ll most likely just replace it with different stuff. Currently being...

ONGD Strat Plus Deluxe

I’m steadily slipping further into Boomer territory with my recent guitar purchases. This is an Old Mew Guitar Day as I got this a couple of months ago and haven’t posted it yet. There’s a couple of others too that I’ll probably stuck in another post at a later date. It’s a Strat Plus Deluxe from ‘9...

Re: soniccake Rude Mous.

Very cool vid. It’s hard to tell from the video but does it sound like a proper RAT. I was looking to get another for less distorted (and noisy) mode so one of these would do the trick if it sounds right. I picked up one of the cheap Plexi versions. It’s pretty decent however definitely a bit more f...

Re: 60th Anniversary Jaguars

It’s cool to have a full scale Jag. Shame about the ugly string through. It just looks weird on a Jag. Ebony board is a nice addition too.

Re: NGD: Gibson ES-335

I think I’m going to keep the case, I like it! And yeah all the paperwork is correct for the guitar so a funny mix up with the case only. It’s definitely a way cooler case. I was just thinking more if you ever sold or traded it. Gibson folk are quite into everything being stock, inc case and gubbin...

Re: NGD: Gibson ES-335

It’s a real stunner. Probably the only lefty in that colour too.

Have you decided if you’re going to get them to ship out the correct case or are you going to keep that one? Did it have the correct COA etc in there?

Re: NGD: Gibson ES-335

Cheers! It’s got the T-type pickups in it. They sound good, had read that some people found them overly bright but that’s not what I’m hearing at all. Not too hot, but still quite pokey. Yeah I have the Memphis Historic Spec II in my one (2019), people say the same thing about those. This is the so...

This. Tho Hagstrom do a baritone Viking that I’d love to try (I think it’s someone’s signature model, Paramore guy maybe).

Yeah the Fabre hardware and Lollar pickup is a nice addition too.

My inner miser still balks at paying a grand for a Junior tho.

Re: pictures of your shortscales

Really thinking about picking up a Bass VI, any good? This is the newer series one and feels much better made than the older one. I bought one of those when they were released. I’d looked at a load of them just to find one that didn’t have a QC problem. The newer one feels more like a quality instr...
