Re: 2amp rigs with added bass
For what it's worth, even though it's a shame to lose out on subby effects, in a live context I don't personally think it matters, at least not when there's a bass player as well. In the same sense that it generally doesn't make sense to have 4 different dirt pedals in your live rig because the audi...

Re: Beige Palace live sesh
It's a bit of a "pay what you can" deal, especially because they're mates of ours. Ultimately we all know it's mutually beneficial for the band and the studio for promoting us both, but we want to at least make sure the videographer gets paid, and if we can at least partially cover the stu...

Re: Beige Palace live sesh
Cheers! I think this was filmed in between our old bass head blowing up, the original replacement getting lost by Evri, and the new one arriving. So the head in the video belongs to Tom, one of the two recording engineers who worked on this session. He used to use it as part of an absurd tonehenge r...

Beige Palace live sesh
We filmed a couple of songs for a Beige Palace live session back in January. The first one is up now, featuring my daft modded Squier Affinity Tele.

Re: NGD Tomson Mustang copy
Absolutely love this, red guitar/black pickguard is pretty much always a winning combo in my book - I used to have an ancient Encore Strat copy in the same colour scheme.
The gold wear on the pickups looks sick as well.

Re: Incoming NGD: Gretsch Jim Dandy
Delivered to the office this morning. The paint chips are a little bit worse than they looked in photos on Reverb, but I don't mind too much because it'll just make me feel less precious about leaving it in the living room. Plays like a dream, and I'm really impressed by how full it sounds and how w...

Incoming NGD: Gretsch Jim Dandy
I've been playing guitar around the house a lot more lately, but I haven't owned an acoustic in about 4 years (!!!) and I can rarely be arsed with an amp at home. So I've been daydreaming about a nice parlour guitar I can keep next to the sofa, and of course the Gretsch Jim Dandy is the number one c...

NGD: Iceman ICX120
You might recall I bought an ICX220 on eBay just over a year ago. It turns out that when I was hunting for a cheap Iceman, a friend of a friend was giving his away. Our mutual pal acquired it with the intent to pass on to me, but then she forgot and it was left gathering dust until last week. Long s...

Re: NGD! Yamaha SGB-500, Cherry Red
Interesting you say that about the neck pickup, my old Yamaha SG200 (which I was extremely stupid to sell) is perhaps the only guitar I've owned where I've liked the sound of the neck pickup.

Re: Marshall Pedal Reissues
I had a Drivemaster as my main distortion for a while, not sure why I got rid of it tbh. I can't imagine needing anything other than the RAT now though, otherwise I'd be intrigued by this reissue.

Re: The ultimate list of cheap copies of great pedals thread!
I had a Mooer Pure Octave on my board for ages, definitely not as "clear" sounding as a Micro POG, and the tracking was sometimes a little bit off, but it was close enough for my purposes. It shit the bed after maybe 8 years (not bad going IMO!) and I replaced it with a SubNUp. It's a majo...
