Re: Ear Protection

I keep meaning to get a custom molded pair, but in terms of "off the rack" stuff I've found Vic Firth plugs to be the most effective, and they're only about £20. I do have tinnitus lol, but my doctor assures me it was caused by stress, not by hearing damage. Intrigued to see how you get al...

Re: new EHX harmoniser

Yeah, I've got the JUNE-60 and the Eyemaster from their newer budget range. Both sound great, although I'm not a big fan of the switches. They seem to be wired in reverse, so the effect turns on when you take your foot off the switch rather than when you push it down. I'm told it should be a relativ...

Re: new EHX harmoniser

That sounds more interesting than I expected. Will have to investigate further at some point - my pedalboard lives at the practice space currently. Doog, I'll happily post you my Mooer Pure Octave. The first problem was that when I turned it on it would occasionally mute my whole signal instead of e...

Re: new EHX harmoniser

Yeah, I haven't played around with the TonePrint at all yet, but the stock settings are definitely more bottom-heavy than any sounds I was able to get out of the Mooer. So far that hasn't been an issue in Beige Palace, I guess because we don't have a bass player. And then I'm unsure how much I'll en...

Re: new EHX harmoniser

I've played a LOT of pitchshifters, and the MicroPOG is still a favourite; nothing EHX have put out touches it for low latency, not even the pedals that came after it! I A/B'd the Nano POG and PitchFork with a MPOG, and it still won on that front, even with its slightly weird clanky tonality. The l...

My only experience of recent Epiphones is the Les Paul SL I bought last year, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how well that one played straight out of the box (immediately miles ahead of the shed Tele, which is a big part of why I sold the shed Tele considering it played worse than a £99 g...

If you do end up getting some kind of Freeze or Super Ego style pedal, Paul, the effects loop in the EHX Silencer I just bought seems able to work alongside that in a really interesting way:

Won't have chance to play loud until Thursday, but having had a knock around through a practice amp for 20 minutes I'm feeling pretty thrilled about it! I did try mounting the ...

Legend! Thanks for that. A few days ago I made the absurd decision that I need two DD3s on my board.

Nice, thanks! Obviously postage to the UK might be costly, but if he's selling the pedal itself for cheap then it might be worth it!

I do like that concept, although I bet it'll be expensive! This one is a Palmer Pedalbay, which worked out about £40 cheaper than the same size Pedaltrain for some reason. I was hoping it might look slightly less ridiculous once I got some pedals on there, but uh... http://bestnetworx.com/uploade...

I'm gonna have to finally accept that I need a mini tuner  Point taken. This is gonna sound ridiculous, but I've kept the Behringer tuner on my board for so long because I like the particular way the signal fades back in when you turn it off, that tuner being switched on and off is responsible...

The only annoying thing about these new TC Electronic pedals is they have those weird footswitches where the effect doesn't engage until you take your foot off the switch, rather than when you first press it down. Not the worst thing in the world, but it has taken some getting used to.

At band practice tonight I finally dialled in a decent tone for a live context with the Eyemaster! It works surprisingly well with the super low output pickups in the Epiphone Les Paul SL.

I haven't used it in stereo mode! I probably should have tried that by now considering how many amps there are knocking around our practice space, haha.

My current board is a Pedaltrain too, although I think they've discontinued this size, it's a Pedaltrain Mini.
