The pound used to be really strong back then. In late 2007 before the real nature of the crash was known, and it was believed to be an American-only issue, the pound was worth 2 dollarydoos.

I'd like to try out some of the vintage Strats and Teles. I've been thinking about getting a vintage configured Fender for a while.

Look pretty great. They're missing the 5th pot which the recent MIMs also missed but I never cared to find out what it did anyway (blend pot?).

The pickup construction is probably going to be a standard humbucker like other modern reissues?

The range in the cv teles and strats completely mirror outputs, magnets, construction and look identical to toneriders. It is quite well documented. The Simon Neil strat having 3 x Alnico 3 and 3 x Alnico 5 magnets per pickup is a big giveaway. Also cvs have 250 alpha brand pots. P sure they’...

Used those on my Martin for awhile after being converted by a friend til I missed the volume, they're swanky and especially nice for fingerpicking. Very true about volume and something to bear in mind. I instantly get drowned out by other guitars, especially because I fingerpick, but I mainly play ...

Silk and steel strings are much easier to fret than other steel acoustic sets.

You could also detune whatever instrument you decide on and use a capo so the strings are looser

Open tuning may also be useful to look in to

I have one of these. Def worth the money. Also looking into a 2x10 option instead though which will be easier to lug around if I need an extension cab.

Sonds kool I have a Fender Blender clone that does the unsympathetic-to-close-intervals thing and it's a bit hard to play because of it but single note riffs and power chords sound amazing. From the boutique world I really like the look of this "Black Glass" germanium drive. It seems to be...

Loved the Keeley java boost I had (range master with mids and fat switch) but prefer the practicality of a standalone drive. Horses for courses though, innit, but I think the main point is germanium drives can do the same general sort of thing.

Glad it's working for you George, it's a nice feeling when you get "the sound" your looking for. I've been playing with less and less gain in recent years and going for a more revealing tone so I have to work harder as I haven't got a sound I can hide behind. Same same same; I keep seeing...

I’ve noticed that extra switching on these micros typically clones famous Keeley or Monte Allums mods. A lot of the time, funnily enough, extra diode clipping options, so switching in and out the change you’ve made to yours, or LED, germanium diodes etc...

Actually just had my first rehearsal with it and it was spot-on for our pop/Motown covers. I was mostly using the overdrive side and controlling everything using the guitar volume and tone. So responsive and cleans up amazingly. The distortion side was a bit quirkier but fine for the heavier stuff. ...

ENO Trinity is a clone of the ds1 with 3 modes for £23.

There’s probably a Donner too. And the Mooer could be had used for peanuts.

None will have the same kurdtz mojo though...
