Can you get a vintage tele or 335 for £2k? It's a minefield, particularly with Fenders because everything can be swapped out easily. Regent Sounds have some vintage stock now at decent prices, so check them out if you're in town.

I tried one of these at the guitar show yesterday. It looks quite cool, and didn't sound too bad through a Mustang I amp, but I hate these affinity necks. They're a really flat and wide D-shape and so bloody uncomfortable. It's kinda painful to wrap your fingers around, and there's no neck to fill y...

The Telemaster was kinda cool.

That tiny lower horn looks so weird. The Jag-stang solves precisely no problems, because there is nothing wrong with the shape of either the Jaguar or Mustang. Actually I can't think of a single "let's combine the shapes of two existing guitars to make a new one" guitar design that has bee...

Damn autocorrected Hohner to 'Higher'. Ah anyway, thanks for the info. Not a bad price considering.

There is that, but it's also what Tim said- try lots of them! But if spending an extra grand on a guitar makes you want to play it more, hang onto it forever, and give you a nice warm feeling whenever you play it then I reckon it's probably worth it.

You should probably decide whether you're after a vintage or modern spec Strat first. That'll narrow your options down. Do you want medium frets, modern saddles, compound radius neck, locking tuners, comfy heel etc. In which case the Elite Series is probably what you're after. The Standard Series se...

Think single coils might be a bit uninteresting in this guitar. I'd probably go for mini humbuckers as they're kinda close to the original pickups.

I also built a large batch of FY-2 clones with a muff tone control for more versatility, and may introduce them sometime this year.
