I did my first two builds with a solder "sucker" and then I spent $5 on a cheapie from Radioshack and I cannot stress how much it has helped. Fixing stuff like this, experimenting with different values, and just generally cleaning up my poor soldering has been so much easier. Other than th...

It is absolutely a bad thing. Camo is for blending in the woods not standing out like a douche in the city.

I'm mostly complaining about redneck fashion but it still applies to the guitar.

that decal is a really nice color. not a huge fan of that shade of blue but the metallic makes it all okay.

So, after checking and double checking resistors, everything is good. I have replaced R24 with a 12K and R23 with a 3.9K and it gave me more fuzz but the problem persist. After working the pedal again, I realized I'm not getting any sound when the sustain is turned to 0. I'm guessing that is signifi...

This pedal sounds great and works great when I run a salt booster in front of it.

I'm convinced that I've got a resistor value wrong somewhere but I'm not really sure how to go about tracking it down.

Check C14 is orientated correctly. I didn't even realize these had an orientation but by dumb luck, it is correct. I also checked all of my resistor values and all of my 12k resistors seem to be around 11.5-11.6k. Is this going to create a big issue? To me, less resistance wouldn't mean less volume...

this. any differences that could be had with caps can be had with all of the other knobs you have.

it's just impossible to tell because the black came in 24" and 25.5". It looks like a 25.5" from the picture but that's just more of a guess. If you're looking into buying it or it is yours just have the seller (or you) measure from the nut to the saddles and you'll have your answer. ...

Using a layout by Tim I went to build a green russian big muff (my first "big" project) and everything seems to function about like you expect but I'm getting a volume drop. If I have the pedal with all the knobs at 10, I'm losing volume. Any idea why this would happen? The novice in me wo...

I got it figured out. I didn't realize they were center negative pins. I built the Meathead and replaced BC182L with a 2N5088 (accounting for different pin outs) but it acts like a treble booster, not exactly what I was expecting. I'll guess I'll have to order the correct part and wait a few days, w...

What would happen if I flipped the ends on the LED? I'm having power issues and I realized that I used an LED I had already clipped the ends on, so I may have them reversed. Would the pedal still work with the just the LED not working? That's what I would expect but wanted to double check with peopl...

Either opinion is pretty much just hypothesis without some hard scientific tests. A dude on TDPRI did a recording of a bunch of different guitars, with different woods, different pickups etc. and asked people to guess what they were. Most people could tell the difference between a strat and a les p...

If I paid a $150 for someone to finish a guitar; I'd pissed there was so much orange peel on the top. The back looks good but the top has a lot of orange peel.
