20w will prob not be clean enough with a band, higher the wattage the more headroom you have.

I fix shit all the time and really have come to prefer PCBs. They are usually clearly labeled and I don't have to unsolder two or more parts just to remove or install one part. The worst problems with shitty PCB's are: cracked pcb that breaks a trace or multiple traces, solder pads come off.

why not get a 2x12 sized 1x12 so it's not as heavy but can fit an amp head?

The market is loaded with interfaces for cheap that feature lots of I/O. You really can't go wrong. I use two Presonus Firestudio Projects for 16 mic pres.

The nature of lithium ion batteries means you won't have to replace them for years, so I feel it would be better just to solder in a new one. This is pretty much the same thing as replacing a CMOS batt for a computer, it's not really gonna need changing for a while.

Remember you can always plug the amp into the speaker cabinet of your choice. That small speaker may give you some rad Queen 'Deacy' style tones even.

it definitely won't hurt to try one. also have you tried using those cheap ground lift plugs? sometimes hum issues are just dumb and you never know!\ also, i would try moving the guitar around to see if you induce more or less hum in certain spots. put it next to amps or anything generating power at...
