I put 250k pots in my Squier VM Jazzy with the stock pups. It tamed a bit of the shrill and was an improvement IMO. For humbuckers, 500k is probably ideal... might be too muddy with 250. And yes, also pretty sure the VM Jazzy comes with 1 meg pots stock. The Jag does too. I got a couple of alpha 50...

I ordered some Ken Rose Picasso humbuckers for it. I'm pretty sure the Jazzmaster has 1meg pots. Should I swap them down to 500k or even 250k since im switching to humbuckers??

NGD: Snazzy Jazzy

After a long courtship, i finally pulled the trigger on a Squier VM Jazzmaster. I replaced the white guard with a mint guard from allparts. I also replaced the stock pup covers with some fender aged whites and replaced the saddles with some graphtech saddles. The saddles aren't 100% the right size, ...

If this is the Orange PPC112, as per http://orangeamps.com/products/guitar-speaker-enclosures/closed-back/ppc112/ then it says the two jack sockets are in parallel. Just take a cable from the amp to the cab, and another cable from the cab to the second cab. This is EXACTLY the info I needed. I than...

No, if you run them in series you get 32 ohms. You have to run them in parallel to get 8. So just so I'm 100% clear on this.... If I run out of the 8ohm Jack in the amp into the first 16ohm cab, then out of that cab into the second 16ohm cab, I'm basically fucking up and running 32ohms and risk loo...

Mesa Mini Rec w/2 orange cabs

I'm thinking of getting a Mesa Mini Rec 25. It has 1 8ohm and 1 4 ohm output. I've two 16ohm Orange 1x12 cabs I'm using now with a Dual Terror Head. If I get the Mesa, can I run the two 16 ohm cabs in series into the 8 ohm input of the Mesa? Wouldn't using two 16 ohm cabs in series create an 8 ohm l...

I was able to try it out and it worked perfect! The LED is a bit dim, but it's actually better that way i think. Thanks to everyone for their help! To brighten the LED up you could change the resistor for a lower value. Does the LED flicker or turn off occasionally? I found my Orange footswitch did...

Here are the pictures. Started with a bare aluminum box and drilled the holes, then painted. Followed the wiring diagram i modified based on feedback everyone has given me here. I won't be able to try it out until tonight. http://s29.postimg.org/x3yces5qf/IMG_20160126_125723_01.jpg http://s29.postim...

Stereo jack and DPDT switch will work though, you just don't have to wire all the lugs. And it probably isn't momentary if it wasn't sold as such. I don't know how much of a pedal noob you are, but if there's a strong tactile click like MXR pedals, it's not momentary. LEDs are DIODES. Their purpose...

Hmm. I didnt think the LED was directional at all. I did notice one wire off of it was shorter than the other though. I'm going to order a mono jack and a new latching switch. As far as the resistor though... how important is that? Will the 470kohm 1/4 work? Thanks again for all the help!

Update: I've cut a new pickguard and replaced the trem. I picked up a rusty '66 Mustang trem unit on ebay for $30, bathed it in vinegar and cleaned it up etc. This trem is much more stable than the CIJ one, and even the sustain is improved. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v665/RollingJ/65%20Musta...
