Yeah, that's the general idea, dude! I'm just getting settled with it now. It's funny, I've been A/Bing with my '92 RAT and the "Classic Distortion" RAT model falls a little flat, not enough spiky higher mids and heavy low end. HOWEVER, the "Facial Fuzz" gets very close indeed, ...

get a big muff, they still sound awesome. in the end, what you play is what matters the most, not how it sounds.

you should play it and put that on youtube. i've read mixed reviews, some people say that the distortion models sound "flat" (whatever that means) etc. but yeah, on the side of convenience this thing kicks ass.

they look really bad, and hurt my eyes. i mean, they are usually so bright that i can't stand looking at them, just can't get the blue light image focused in my eyes, they all appear blurry to me.

i don't imagine that i could squeak away with head + matching cab for much less than that. the best deal on a head was $375 on craigslist, and i was very close to pulling the trigger. i love those amps, as they've corrected everything i found wrong with the tiny terror. EDIT: $700 for head + matchi...

some great info in this thread, thanks Will, and other pals.

on topic of the hand rule, how come you often see great singers sing really close, as close as it gets, to the mic?

looks like ground wire went loose. i'm pretty sure you need to solder it.

the springs on the pickup are supposed to be on the pickup screws, under the pickguard. i think this bass was either badly assembled or was tinkered by the previous owner, pretty bad too.

Are looking for a specific sound/tone? Those amps are all reasonably different in voice. yeah, you're right. honestly, i can't exactly answer to this question. so far i know, that i like the sound of EL84s more than 6V6s, but this might be very subjective to take into account. i find myself liking ...

another Vox Night Train thread.

so does anybody actually own one of these? i've been GASing for a small amp for a while now, and my other options were: - orange TT (not versatile enough) - orange DT (better than above, but too expensive) - egnater [they have few models] (hate the blue led) - jet city 333 (read mixed reviews on the...

i've acquired a line 6 pod 2.0 from my mate. he's going off to uni and wanted to de-clutter. though it would come in handy for home recording, practising with headphone. some nice crunch/drive sound, not so keen on the cleans yet though only just got it. plus it was free, so fair gain i say. any on...

GFS rails are pretty good, put one in the bridge for rawk tones. But you got to balance with other pickups, so get the "vintage output" version if you're leaving single coils in other positions.

Thanks dudes, glad you liked it.

Yeah, the trem is kinda odd... I thought it would act like a volume controller with expression pedal hooked up, but yeah, some kind of leslie sim is a good description.

Been havin' it for over a month now. Did some demo. Fast forward to about 8th minute for exp. pedal usage. The Worm can be used as a wah-wah with exp pedal. Sounds funny with phaser + exp. pedal, pretty useless in vib & trem modes with exp. pedal. Here it is: [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watc...

How do you write your tabs?

I've recently came to conclusion that writing down actual tablatures is much more effective than just recording sketches, because you can just look at the tab at any time and recall what was going on in there  I've tried some tab authoring (editing) programs, but neither suits me quite well. Wh...
