Re: What are your favourite/dream acoustics

Martin O-15, Gibson J-45 76773088-6A90-49E1-9681-2A4075BA3D9E.jpeg ED4C0155-F92A-4963-8454-BF7D0F23DE08.jpeg I think my OO-15 is the nicest acoustic I’ll ever own. Real Martins are so expensive now (the affordable ones are all imports with made-up model names) that I probably wouldn’t buy one even i...

Re: Eq pedals

In my experience the little bit extra any Boss compact has over some cheap plastic pedal is not sounding like noise-interferencey dogshit on a pedalboard with a universal power supply. Having said that, literally none of my Boss pedals made it onto my last pedalboard, but 2 Behringers and a Dano Min...

Re: Behringer Power Overdrive PO300 + some old shortscale story telling

There's not a discussion on Behringer compacts that goes by where I don't remember Hurb knocking one knobs-first off stuff going "c'mon, break, fuckin breaaaaak..."

Re: pictures of your guitars here

IIRC the Fender version had nutserts in the body and knurled screws holding the ashtray on? No way? Maybe on some US reissue. The old bass bridge covers had foam strips though, so they weren't just covers for looks/handrests but a mute system. They probably only started doing that on the Jazz after...

Re: Cooper FX is no more. But you can get the tone cheaply

Great vid. Not really even heard of the Cooper pedal but this made me want one of those Zooms and also prompted me to bust out my bitcrusher and ringmod solutions for the evening.

Not buying a pedal demo’d by that guy, but he does sort of make me want to riot and rape and rip off Nirvana.

DM-2 I borrowed (stole) this one from a venue we once played. It seemed it was collecting dust at the office of the fat drunk venue manager, probably forgotten by a band years ago, so I thought I would put it to good use instead. Sold it for $$$ some weeks later. I guess this doesnt count in my ââ...

DS-1 Distortion DS-2 Super Distortion CE-2 CE-3 Chorus OBD-3 Bass Overdrive Still like DS-2. CE-2 was technically my brother’s because our older cousin gave it to us when my brother was a much more accomplished guitarist with a nicer amp. I concealed the Ibanez DML10 he gave us with it though...

All Specials have two pickups (single pickup version is a Junior) and that is pretty blatantly an Iommi-themed model/cleverer purchase than any model that actually has his name on it.

The amps too. That whole room could be X-rated.

While Noirie's guitars are presumably ALREADY illegal here.

Mint guard is a result of natural aging of some protoplastic pickguard materials that were used on early strats as I understand it. The '50s Strats had protoplastic, potted material like "bakelite" which had covers and knobs that would yellow ahead of the pickguard. The reissues of these ...

Mint guards only look good if everything else is mint too. This whole “cream covers and knobs with mint guard thing that has started happening is wrong and looks bad.

That Jag is perfect, in any case.

I bought the nicer Stewmac files, 3 double sided ones that take care of all 6 nut slots; as you say they're not cheap. They do make it an easy job though. The lighter weight type they sell might be worth a shot... a lot of people also like those multi-file tools for nutwork but I like the width and ...

I’d mostly go for “power loader from Aliens mojo. Mostly.

No lie though, that guitar looks better every time I come in here. It’s the only thing that’s made me want one of these Kinder Surprise Stangs yet.

I like the green one but I really really like the yellow one with the black stripe. It might be because these guitars themselves are so un-60s looking that a LOUDER finish kind of works better for me. Needs matching headstock.

My new supersonic is 40mm at the nut. Jagstang neck does not feel that small. Like at all. Too bad, it is. Proper vintage A width is 38.1mm, not 40. The JS actually measures out a hair narrower than 40. The neck profile has a lot to do with how big/small a neck feels... I thought my SG-II would be ...
