That laurel will probably look beautiful with a bit of oil - altho of the three laurel boards I have, one drank like a fish and sucked it down until it looked like rosewood, one was almost unaffected and one was in between.

This one has zero issues in E with a set of 12s and new tuners. I just dislike the neck shape. Weirdly I have a 90s Mustang with a tiny neck and I love it.

Wow. That must be rock bottom for USA Strats. Fascinating how bad the late 90s were for Fender.
