Re: bronco restore
As mentioned, in the above edit, I disassembled the bridge again and followed some instructions on setup and what to look for. I don't think my playing style will put the worn post edges at risk of getting too problematic. Not worried. Restrung and intonated which is when I discovered the clipped t...

Re: bronco restore
The bridge/trem seems to be in working order, but I'll need to order a bronco sized reverb handle to use it. I took it all apart and gave it a CLR bath. Shines up great! What's the best way to adjust the height once strings are on? It's a bit low on the controls side and fretting out those strings....

Re: bronco restore
Looks cool as a natural relic, but whatever. Has it been refinished once already? Fender never did that color for Broncos. That style of headstock decal is definitely a later run. If it is in fact a 1976 Bronco, it would have been black or vintage white with a black pickguard. What's the status of ...

Re: NGD Tomson Mustang copy
Taylor I just measured and it's 24 3/4" actually! So Gibson scale I guess. And the bridge sure is weird but I like it. My plan is to string it with 11s and a wound G (seems most likely to work with the setup) and then cut a new nut, the fretboard is flatter than the crappy plastic replacement....

Re: pictures of your shortscales
Only have three electric short scales. 505EB370-077E-4C9D-8CEE-18BB563113B1.jpegB8596EB0-BA23-4827-BCE4-58E38452940C.jpeg3977B4EB-4F23-437A-BAF1-8D0365BC2CCF.jpeg I have that exact Squier CV Mustang and just picked up a Squier CV Jaguar FSR. These guitars punch so far above what you pay for them pr...

Yes, please.
Does it have the arm and tummy contours?
I dig the straight through stripes. It's more like an actually Mustang car.

Re: NGD: Squier CV Jaguar FSR
I finally got some time today to fully setup the guitar. I removed the stock strings and the stock vibrato. I installed the Fender AVRI vibrato I had laying around and it fit perfectly. http://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52768135467_5a2f5c8dac.jpg http://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52768135517_56d1c...

Re: NGD: Squier CV Jaguar FSR
I received the new Vibrato arm sleeve and installed it. Unfortunately, it does not fit my AVRI or any other Jazzmaster/Jaguar Vibrato arm that I have. This was only arm sleeve on Fender's website and it only fits AMERICAN ORIGINAL JAGUAR®/JAZZMASTER® TREMOLO ARMs 10 MINUTES LATER... Since my AVRI Ja...

Re: Fender Bronco History
I also didn't realize that Japan also had Broncos. This one from the 1977 Catalog in all White with black Witch hat knobs looks fantastic. 1979 Japanese models were all black. http://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52734985008_c196260364_c.jpg I don't think they were made in Japan back then, but for th...

Re: NGD: Squier CV Jaguar FSR
I am waiting on some parts before I setup my new Jaguar. My plan was originally to install a Staytrem arm, but their website says could take up to 26 weeks. (scratch that for now) I already have an AVRI vibrato, but one of the teeth on the tree arm collet broke off. I ordered another one and it shou...

Re: pictures of your shortscales
Here's an up to date pic of my Shortscales. Please ignore ugly duvet. L-R IBM AVRI 62 (Mojo pickups, 65 slab MMII neck, Fendee KC Jag (Closet Classic), Thinline Jaguar (Custom Alt 88s), CAR CIJ SD Hot/1/4 Pounder), Fiesta Lacquer series jag (Rosewood board), OTM Vintera Jaguar. On top is a Squier M...

Re: NGD: Squier CV Jaguar FSR
I know all the US and Mexican stuff (and most of the Japanese) come with an angled neck pocket these days so maybe worth checking. The US stuff seems to me i one degree minimum, so if anything maybe too much angle from the factory. I'm not sure about the Squier stuff as it's been a while since I ha...

Re: I'm starting to tire of the EU getting all this awesome shit and we get get 8 different sunburst strats
Or we get the Squier versions with incorrect Pickup covers and not matching headstocks. Fender needs Vintera Competition Mustangs yesterday. http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0343/4368/2183/products/squier-squier-classic-vibe-60s-competition-mustang-capri-orange-w-dakota-red-stripe-0374078582-2939888...

Re: NGD: Squier CV Jaguar FSR
I noticed the neck bolts were kinda loose and I could see daylight between the body and the neck. I tightened that up and it lowered the action a bit. I honestly don't think it will need a shim now and might only have to adjust the bridge height. The neck pickup was making all kinds of racket/noise ...

Re: Fender Bronco History
you're not the first i've heard say the bronco bridge is their favorite, and it's a shame with bona fides like that and the popularity of the guitar antiquity won't prompt fender to do a proper reissue. since it only ever landed on one model of guitar the molds, templates, and forges may have been ...

Re: NGD: Squier CV Jaguar FSR
I tuned it up and put it through it's paces. The guitar weighs in at 8lbs, 3.7 ounces which is 4 ounces lighter than the AVRI Jaguar. The setup is not bad. The neck needs a shim, lemon oil and need to open up the nut for .11s. The tuners are fine but I will eventually traded them out. The Bridge is ...

Re: Fender Bronco History
picking up a bronco is still a bucket list item for me. i've given up on the idea of building one as buying the intact bridges separately is almost impossible at this point. i do have legit bronco knobs, though. I have about 90% of a Bronco Bridge. I have been really lucky to piece it together. I w...
