I primarily use DR Black Beauties, in part for aesthetic, in part for sound and longevity.

D'Addario strings are decent, and, as Kim said, Fender are pretty good for price if you want to spend a little less.

I love that dark night finish, and I kind of want it. What's with the JGS-86 hate? It's an awesome guitar: a short scale offset, with a matching headstock, MIJ quality, an amazing neck, and no stupid vintage bridge. Mine was an early model, when they still came with black hardware. Much of it has w...

Contrarian opinion, but this guy's videos really fuck me off; they're a masterpiece of polish over content, and he always manages to fuck up his research. He's yer classic "P90s in a Jazzmaster" guy. Contratian but 100% spot on. I've watched maybe up to 5 of his videos in the past, now I ...

Re: Case Confusion

I'd like to find a case for a Mustang. I'd assumed that a Jaguar case would work because of the scale. But all the Jag cases I'm seeing are also listed as fitting a Jazzmaster, so that doesn't make any sense. That would mean a Jag case is too long AND wide for a Mustang? The case is fitted to the b...

Reverb listed Shell Pink Jag-Stang

Oh man, my email alerts from Reverb this morning included this Shell pink nitro refinished Jag-Stang . It is on Reverb, so it's stupid expensive... but I love how it looks. The wonky Jag-Stang shape really works with shell pink. http://images.reverb.com/image/upload/s--YgTn810a--/f_auto,t_large/v158...

Such a handsome guitar! And infinitely better with rosewood neck! I second that emotion; the maple makes the whole guitar look queasy, the rosewood gives it some nice red contrast against all the yellow-greens. Lovely stuff! Agreed. This is a great look. The route is interesting, with the centre bl...

You might already be doing this, but... A fair number of people bought these Squiers with intent to mod... and many of those mods included swapping out the bridge. Hit up the various popular guitar forums where people post mods and search through the threads for projects with these. It’s pos...

As far as I know these were only on those Squier Jaguars, Jazzmasters, and baritone Jazzmasters... not sure you’re gonna find a generic version.

That looks really cool; nice snag! I really like the vibrola. I remember trying a guitar with one years ago, probably an SG or Firebird, I thought it was too subtle I didn’t understand the point of it at all. Now it feels just right, either I played a badly set up guitar before or I just appr...
