From my experiences with bore oil, it does not darken rosewood but instead gives it a richer colour, which has never lasted very long for me. That's kind of disappointing to hear. Oh well... Oh, one other thing. What kind of finishes are on these, nitro or poly? Or does it depend on what year it is? I'm not sure if I'll want to refinish it or not, but I thought I'd ask, just in case. I checked the Fender website for the 65RI and it doesn't say what kind of finish it is.
