Re: NGD - Fender American Professional II Jazzmaster - LH

Haven't heard anything more from the cunts, no refunds, nothing The badly seated fret and hole under the wire i'm pretty sure are Fender's QC responsibility. The other damage, likely the store or a customer who returned it. Yes. This is only my second US Fender, my first one, from 2005 is a wonderfu...

the lexicon I mentioned is usb powered

A lot of them draw power over USB B or newer USB C

Re: Home guitar-time setups

Audient make pretty sweet stuff for the money, i considered their ID4 (that Sono tho !), i went with the komplete audio 1 instead to save money and it does the job. As for dongles, those Irig things seem to get good reviews but it will be a compromise (aka getting less bang for your buck but having ...

Re: n00b needs advice

A bit late but vinegar and baking soda are your friends

Careful with some coatings on metal as it can start oxidation. (had this happen on matte - satin chrome - schaller straplocks once)

Re: Home guitar-time setups

There's a lot more budget audio interfaces, i bought a komplete audio one last year for €77 and it's been doing what i need it to do. I have one of those behringer 1/4 jack to usb dongles and an m audio firewire solo, firewire is dead and the usb dongle ..while cheap..for a little bit more you can h...

Re: NGD - Fender American Professional II Jazzmaster - LH

If you want those nylon inserts you can have them, sucks about shipping cost to UK but i'd gladly mail them to you if you want them. Perhaps in non tracked envelope just as letter post it'd be cheap. I'll verify diameter so you know they'll fit for sure. The shop said either return the whole thing l...

Re: NGD - Fender American Professional II Jazzmaster - LH

Normally you'd be happy and over the moon with a nice JM With this one it's been one thing after another. I've set it up quite perfectly, the nylon inserts on the bridge are gone, it's freed, it's safe from anymore store abuse and i absolutely feel comfortable playing it. With the KC jag i had to co...

Re: Home guitar-time setups

Haha, yeah... I think the blackstar ht1 and oceans 11's spring reverb are a good combo for the time being if i don't want to use headphones (headphones out also less than great). I've always liked that small valve amp. Chimey cleans. To me amplitube really does what i want in simulating a room and r...

Re: Home guitar-time setups

Yeah cheapest Helix looks like double the cost. Very curious about the HX, i'd be using headphone 99% of the time too i think, very rarely i play (amplified) without headphones in my apartment, it's nice to have it as an option though (headphones out on emulation amp) but then you'd sacrifice other ...

Re: Home guitar-time setups

I've gotten too used to that splishy splash drippy spring reverb, it's become essential, i would put that above any other features that make something handy. For amp at home i need something like that ehx oceans 11 there with the blackstar ht1. For amplitube i use emulated fender reverb unit or the ...

Re: Home guitar time setups

I've been using the HX Stomp on headphones 99% of the time since buying it last September; I think I've literally plugged into my little Yamaha THR10-II two or three times in that time. Being able to directly insert an AUX into that set-up is brilliant, either for learning/jamming, or just putzing ...

Re: Home guitar time setups

What do you use in ableton for emulation ? I could never get on with ableton, better with fl studio but hassle recording, mostly just use amplitube as standalone, make some drums stuff in superior drummer and put that in amplitube as 'jam' tracks. I got reaper and planning on getting to know that. A...

Re: Home guitar time setups

I love that with amplitube i can be very loud and it's directly going into my earholes and not into the apartment building but it sure is a big compromise compared to having an amp, pedalboard and soundproofed room all set up and ready to go. Perhaps i need to move things around a bit in the living ...

Home guitar-time setups

Which amps or other devices (pc, pedalboard amp, headphone amp etc) setups are you using for quiet playing times at home ? Do you have a dedicated room or corner of your living room ? Do you keep things ready to just plug in or store everything away when not in use ? For apartment dwellers; anything...

Re: Left handers who play right handed guitars

Late but i saw it and felt i'd pop in. I can not get on with flipped guitars. I have a righthanded Hondo II SG style (EG-502) stringed lefthanded, that works fine, the body shape (symmetric and thin) and weight make it fairly ok flipped. The trem arm was missing when i bought it. It's got a 6 in lin...

Re: I just bought a compressor

I tend to use them (emulated) in amplitube, it's one of those things where it's perhaps a boring purchase but if you can try it you may like what you find and it's worth getting.

Re: NGD - Fender American Professional II Jazzmaster - LH

It's got issues and i am really disappointed with 2021 Fender US quality control but yes, that color was made for a JM. Hurbb said perhaps not a bad idea to lube saddles with those nylon inserts for the bridge posts, he recommended shooting Mike Adams a DM about it. So i did. He said there's thimble...
